Hallo,
my Enfold theme with Layerslider was purchased last May by the person who created my website. Everything was working fine until a few days ago when I went on the Layerslider page in my backend and realised that, although I could open the slider, I could not do some operations that I could do before, like clicking on an item in a slide in order to select it and enlarge it, for example. If I click on a layer the item in that layer does not show any selection nor sizing grips around it. I can resize an object only by entering new values in the “styles” tab.
I also realized that the Layerslider plugin is not listed in the plugin page anymore (I am quite sure it was before), although a red circle with number one in it, signalling that a plugin must be updated, appears in the menu, and it must refer to Layerslider since all other plugins are updated.
This may have something to do with my updating WP recently?
How do I fix this?
As I said, it was working perfectly a couple of weeks ago, the last time I used it to create a new slider.
Thank you for your help

October 2, 2018 at 5:41 am #1016866Hi Elena,
Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.4.1) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. Please note that you might have to delete the old version before you upload the new one in order for it to install properly.
Best regards,
RikardOctober 3, 2018 at 11:37 am #1017472Hi Rikard,
I have downloaded the updated Enfold theme from Themeforest. Before I do the updating, though, I was wondering:
I am actually using a child theme. Do I still need to update the parent Enfold theme? And if so, how should I proceed. Should I keep the child theme active and just replace Enfold, or activate Enfold first? Or what else?Thank you
ElenaOctober 4, 2018 at 5:38 am #1017677Hi Elena,
You shouldn’t have to do anything with your child theme unless there are things in there which are in conflict with the new version, but that is difficult to know before you are actually running the new version.
What you could do to install the new version properly is to delete or rename the current parent theme, then upload the new version to WordPress. Your child theme can remain active.

RikardOctober 4, 2018 at 12:39 pm #1017862Hallo,
I have done the update. Now layerslider seems to work fine, although it is still not listed in the plugin page. Is that normal?Anyway, the update has created quite a few problems with the aspect of the website, especially the sidebar menus no more aligned to the left but to the right in many pages (all pages except homepage and single product pages) and a section of the product characteristics repeated twice in the product pages and appearing below the product rather than beside it in some cases. This is what I noticed by now.
I guess the Enfold updates are in conflict with the child theme personalizations. What do you suggest?
I did not create the child theme myself.
ElenaOctober 5, 2018 at 5:17 am #1018117Hi,
The bundled layerslider will not show in your plugin page, this is normal.
I took a look at your sidebar menus and found that you could add this code in the General Styling > Quick CSS field to correct:.sidebar_left.sidebar{text-align: left !important;}
I’m not sure I understand what your second error is, please try to explain again with some images.

MikeOctober 5, 2018 at 12:44 pm #1018263Hi Mike,
yes, that code solved the sidebar menu issue. Thank you!The other issue is that the product info which appears on the right side of each book (see product page contains a section which was not there before and which is redundant, namely the section below the price and before “aggiungi al carrello” (add to basket). So this section: redundant product info should be removed.
With some products, the product info slips down below the flipbook image, like for instance in this case: product pageFinally, I have noticed that the comments section, which was under each product, has disappeared in some cases.
If you scroll down you can see it in this page product with comments but not in this product without comments although it is there in the backend.Thank you for any help

October 5, 2018 at 1:56 pm #1018279Hi,
Thank you for the explanation, to hide the first table, Please try this code in the General Styling > Quick CSS field:.single-product .av-woo-purchase-button .shop_attributes { display: none !important; }
The reason some of the product pages have the product info below the flipbook is because these product pages use a two third column for the flipbook, where the pages that are showing “correctly” are using a one half column.
If there are not many pages that are built “wrong” or “different” perhaps you would want to correct the columns, otherwise can you create a list of links to these pages so we can decide how to target just these products with css and not effect the others?
As for the missing comment sections, Can you please include a admin login in the private content area so we can take a closer look.Best regards,
MikeOctober 5, 2018 at 3:43 pm #1018296Hi Mike,
great! That fixed the product info issue.
I also corrected the column issue. That concerned only a couple of products after all.I enclose an admin login.
I also wanted to ask you, how do I keep Layerslider updated?
Thank you

ElenaOctober 6, 2018 at 4:06 am #1018371Hi,
Well the reviews was a odd issue, I ended up un-checking the reviews in the “Quick Edit” in the product list:
and in the advanced tab of the product:
and then saved. Then I enabled them both again. My research found that this often “resets” the reviews so they will show.
But for the one I was working on it didn’t solve, so I manually added a review by going to screen options at the top of the product page and checking “review” so the manual box would show at the bottom of the page:
so now the review form shows.
If you have any other review sections not showing try to follow these steps, or you could try disabling all plugins and try recreating the page. Hopefully this helps.How LayerSlider Updates work in Enfold
The bundled version of LayerSlider will be updated with theme updates, which we do depending on our own release cycle and depending on critical updates. The users cant update the bundled version of the layerslider, even if actived.
However, if a user wishes to update before the next theme update, they can simply purchase a copy of the layerslider on codecanyon, upload it as a plugin and activate it. It will then overwrite the bundled version, and then the user is in full control of LayerSlider updates.
There is no need to deactivate the bundled version, it automatically detects if the plugin version is active and disables itself.Best regards,
MikeOctober 6, 2018 at 10:35 am #1018463Hallo Mike,
thank you very much.
I did not even know that something like the “quick edit” existed :)So, does that mean I have to manually add a “fake” review to each product in order to have the reviews section appear?
It seems all the issues created by the theme update have been “solved”, so thank you for all the help.
What if something like this happens with the future updates and my support time has expired?I would have another unrelated question. Not sure if I should open a new thread.
The question is: how can I change the Italian translation of “You may also like” (automatic title of the up-sells section)?
I would like to change it from “Ti potrebbe piacere” to “Ti potrebbero piacere anche”.Best regards,

October 6, 2018 at 4:07 pm #1018508Hi,
I took another look at your reviews and found that your tab section on your product pages has been customized to not show the review tab, when compared to the default product tabs:
I think this maybe part of the issue, but it’s hard to tell because your child theme has a lot of customizations for your products.
But I have come up with another solution, if you use the account you created for us to add a one word review to show the review form, then use this css to hide all reviews by that user, you can show the form without any “fake” reviews..comment-author-kriesi,h2.woocommerce-Reviews-title { display: none !important; }
To change the upsell title, Try adding this code to the end of your functions.php file in Appearance > Editor:
function custom_upsell_text(){ ?> <script> jQuery(window).load(function(){ jQuery(".up-sells.upsells.products h3").text("Ti potrebbero piacere anche"); }); </script> <?php } add_action('wp_footer', 'custom_upsell_text');
For in the future I hope you will consider renewing your support service, it’s only a small amount and I hope we have provided a great value :)
Best regards,
MikeOctober 6, 2018 at 6:13 pm #1018542Hi Mike,
I did as you suggested and it seems to work fine, thank you. Luckily I only have twenty or so products on my website :)
Forgive me, I am not sure I understand where those tabs you show me should be in the product page. I cannot see the review tab, but not even the other two tabs as well.The custom upsell text works too. But I have noticed just now that the customized text does not only appear as title of the upsells section, but has also replaced the name of the authors (linking to the author page) below the title of the book.
See upsells screenshot
(this was taken from page product page link )Hope you have a solution for that too :)
Lastly: how do I renew my support service?

October 6, 2018 at 9:21 pm #1018564Hi,
I changed the function a little, now it only targets the correct title:function custom_upsell_text(){ ?> <script> jQuery(window).load(function(){ jQuery(".up-sells.upsells.products > h3:first-child").text("Ti potrebbero piacere anche"); }); </script> <?php } add_action('wp_footer', 'custom_upsell_text');
Please clear your browser cache and check.
