    Hi everybody

My site is working in German. Have a look http://www.meiersolar.ch

Some predefined sentences I couldn’t translate/manipulate myself are
    – Search bar in header (Search > German: Suche)
    – Search bar in footer (Search > German: Suche)
    – Breadcrumb in the header (You’re here > German: Sie befinden sich in)
    – Contact form: Please prove that you are human by solving the equation > German:…

Could you please help me and indicate where I can change these sentences?

Thanks and cheers from Switzerland, Rolf

    Hi RolfAeschbacher!

Those texts are wrapped in gettext calls so they should be available in the .pot file. Try installing this plugin, https://wordpress.org/plugins/codestyling-localization/, and do a search for the theme texts so you can translate them directly in your dashboard.

    Best regards,
    Elliott

    Hi Elliott

Unfortunately this is none of a help.

I found out I have to download and install the language package de_DE, but inserting it into the language location on the FTP-server doesn’t help…

    Do you have another advice?

    Thanks, Rolf

    Hi!

Did you try the plugin out that I listed in my previous post? After installing the plugin navigate to Dashboard > Tools > Localization and then click the edit button under the Enfold section to change the texts.

Are you sure your WordPress language is set to de_DE? http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Language_and_Language_Directory

    Cheers!

    the localization didn’t work.

I had to upload the de_DE package and place it into the language folder.

Then I could change the site language to Deutsch.

    Now it works.

Besides: I don’t find your support page well done.
    – no good overview
    – search is confusing
    – account is complicated

In one word: it’s not intuitive…sorry, there’s potential for improvements here.

    Thanks, Rolf
