I am not sure how Enfold was installed on the site, but to get the newest version, I purchased the theme, entered the API key, and updated the theme. The first time I tried, it said that it couldn’t find the URL. I closed WordPress and came back, and tried again, and it appeared to work with no error messages. However, from Enfold Theme Options \ Theme Update still says “You are running the latest version! (3.3.2)”. I assume I still have the wrong version, and the pending PHP upgrade will knock out my site since the older version of Enfold is not compatible. I searched a lot of the help and there was a lot for initial install, but I couldn’t find anything on upgrade problems.

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

February 12, 2020 at 4:32 am #1183738Hi,
Thanks for the details and sorry for the problem. I see that you are running an old version of the theme. The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

RikardFebruary 15, 2020 at 11:51 pm #1184886Thanks for the help, I am still working on this. The new theme is 67MB but my maximum upload size is 64MB. I am working with my host company to increase this limit.
February 16, 2020 at 6:22 am #1184933Hi,
Thanks for the update. You can always upload the theme manually via FTP if the theme is too big. We can help you out with that if you post FTP login details in private, and verify that you have backups of the site.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 17, 2020 at 12:39 am #1185037Yes I finally found out how to FTP to the site, and I ended up deleting and then uploading. It was a bit nerve racking because the upload took 3 hours and the site was down for that time.
After the dust settled today I registered via the new Envato key and the old API key section disappeared. So it looks like we can wrap this one up.
Thanks again for all your help
