I have made the mistake of doing the complete site and all settings and customization on the main theme. The problem here is when I want to update my theme. The question is. How can I now integrate a child theme and retain all my settings and customization. I can not remember exactly all I did up to now on the parent theme. But when I activate the child theme..All my settings and Custom CSS is gone.

Can someone please assist with this?

Just an Update… I have tried to import settings from the parent theme but it still does not display correctly.

    Hi,

Thanks for the login details. I can’t see a child theme in your installation though?

    Best regards,

    Hi There

    Sorry my bad…
I have installed the child theme again. Can you please have a look for me?

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I can see that you have a child theme now but it’s not activated. Could you try to export your settings from the parent, then activate the child and import the settings?

When I activate the child theme and import settings from the parent theme, it does not seem to import everything like colors, custom header image settings and so on. So I’m not sure if maybe I’m doing something wrong?

I think I may have found the solution to my challenge. When activating the child theme, I had to take the quick CSS and put it into the CSS file of the Child theme. That seemed to work, but I am still facing footer color issues and also some othe elements that did not seem to import with the settings. But I’ll keep on playing around and fix it. Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

It will only copy the theme settings that is in Enfold Theme Options. Try to check if you have added some css codes or js codes that might have affected it.

    Best regards,
