Hi guys,
somehow I noticed that when using the fullscreen slider element and adding a video to a slide the video is rendered fine and correctly if taken from Youtube (where I hosted it) on any browser.
If I took the same video from my AmazonS3 bucket to serve it much faster, it loads fine on all browsers but Firefox, where it is rendered with a black bar on top that cuts almost half of the video.
You can view it yourself (using Firefox) at https://casateulada.com
You’ll see the top section of the page opening up a fullscreen slider element with two photos then a video. If you scroll down the page almost to the end you’ll see the same video playing again, this time from the YouTube link and rendering correctly.
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks.
Antonio
October 30, 2014 at 1:07 am #343131Hey Antonio!
My firefox totally shuts down when I open your website. In Chrome I see this error:
“The page at ‘https://casateulada.com/’ was loaded over HTTPS, but displayed insecure content from ‘http://casateulada.com.s3.amazonaws.com/Sardinia2.mp4’: this content should also be loaded over HTTPS.”
So is it possible for you to load the video in httpS?
Cheers!

I’ll need some help from someone hopefully knowing how to load/render an http:// YouTube video into an https:// so that I can embed YouTube videos in the site with SSL certificate without having those errors that you encountered.
I tried using the following procedure (see link http://engagingcomms.com/Easy-way-to-Configure-SSL-for-Amazon-S3-bucket-via-Cloudflare-115) since I’m using CloudFlare for my SSL site, but I must have probably done something incorrectly if you still got the error message.
Anyone knows how to turn http YouTube videos into https links?
Thank you,
Antonio
November 1, 2014 at 5:13 am #344473Hi!
Have you tried changing the http:// to https://? This should work just fine because youtube supports https embeds. If it doesn’t work, try to employ protocol-relative URLs such as //www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0k3kHtyoq.

IsmaelNovember 1, 2014 at 8:41 am #344513Hi Ismael,
Curiously enough I just changed the original YouTube link given in the embed (which was just http://) with the one I saw in the YouTube address bar, which carried the https:// and when loading again the site the error seems to have gone.
I gave up taking the link from my AS3 bucket for the moment, because if the YouTube appears to be working fine I may not have to change such link with my own link on AS3.
I don’t consider the issue solved yet, because I have a feeling that it should be better to add the AS3 link, but so far so good…
There are other little issues I need to solve with regards to speed optimization for a faster loading site, so once I’m done translating the site I will probably get back to this one if it improves the rendering.
Thank you. I think you guys are terrific and I’m so glad I stick to Enfold for every site I make.
I keep recommending Enfold to lots of fellows and I know that quite a few end up buying it. Why shouldn’t they in the end? You guys are awesome!
