    Hi,
Does the enfold theme automatically compress the file size of an image when it is being used as a small image, versus a large image? For instance, if I upload a photo to fit the “featured large” size, but select the “portfolio small” size for displaying that image, will the file size also be reduced, or will file size remain the same and just the visual dimensions be reduced)? I ask this because I’d like to optimize images for small file sizes, and would like to know if I have to upload various versions of this same image in order to keep file sizes small.
    Thanks!

    Hey webdesign,

The theme automatically re-size your images to suit large screen and small screen devices and use the required size for different size screens. However you can further optimise images using plugins like smush it. https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/

    Best regards,

Sorry to chime in here, but how can compression be removed?

Im uploading an image that’s 312kB locally,
once uploaded it’s 305 kB… site is for a very sharp eyed photographer
who wants no loss in quality.

    Hi,

There shouldn’t be any compression to images unless you are using a plugin for that, file sizes might be a bit different depending on if you are using FTP or local explorer/file browser. Please post admin login detail in private if you should have any further problems.

    Regards,
    Rikard
