I have installed the “classic editor” plugin and still not getting the Avia Advanced Layout Editor.

What else do I need to do? I don’t have blocks anymore, but all the options are not appearing.

    Hey Lee,

Which version of the theme are you running? If you are running 4.4.1 or below then the update to 4.7.x has to be done manually, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.

After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.

Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

I completely uninstalled the theme and wordpress. I have reinstalled wordpress and the theme (using the newest version of Enfold – which I had used an older version before) and I am having all kinds of issues.

I still am not seeing the Avia Advanced Layout Editor, I get a “Sorry, you are not allowed to edit posts in this post type.” error when trying to even see the sample pages. I went through and tested plugins which were giving some errors and removed those that were causing an issue.

I am not an advanced website builder, but I have used enfold for several websites and never had any of these issues before.

    Thanks,

    Lee

FYI, I updated to PHP 7.0, that didn’t help, I have tried going with a default theme and turning off all plug-ins and still getting the “Sorry, you are not allowed to edit posts in this post type” message and still not seeing Avia Advanced Layout Editor even with Classic Editor Plugin installed and activated.

Really need some help on this. I just went in and paid for support too. Thanks,

I completely wiped out everything and started over. Everything is working now, must have done something in wrong order, or installed incorrectly at some point!
