    Dear Enfold team,
    I have not been able to edit my page (Enfold theme) for some time and I really need help. I am a beginner in the field …
    In addition, my site is occasionally unreadable for the public. I hope someone can help me further, I would be very happy.

    Hey kleinerladen,

    Sorry for the problem, it’s likely due to the new block editor in WordPress. Could you try to update to the latest version of the theme, then select to use the Classic Editor in the theme options to see if that helps please?
    The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually unfortunately, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

    You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

    If that doesn’t work then you can try to completely remove the theme, then upload it again.

    If you don’t want to update then you can try to disable the WordPress block editor using this in your functions.php file:

    // disable for posts
    add_filter('use_block_editor_for_post', '__return_false', 10);
    
    // disable for post types
    add_filter('use_block_editor_for_post_type', '__return_false', 10);

    I tried it with the plugin but it does not work. maybe i have done something wrong … my problem is, that my english is not good and i am a beginner in the field.

    Thanks for the update. We can help you to update but then we will need FTP login details as well along with a confirmation that you have backups of the site, in case something should go wrong.

    Thanks for the details, though we need FTP login details as well to be able to update your site. Do you have those details as well? If not then you should be able to get them through your hosting provider.

    Thank you for sharing the details and sorry for the delay.

    I checked your site and your products look amazing! I also found that the theme has not been updated for some time.

    I also created a test page(Link in private content) to check page editor and works fine. I just had to click on the arrow on the right side to expand the editor.

    To update the theme please follow this guide.

    Hi,

    When I log in and check everything works fine for me. As mentioned I am able to create a test page without any issue. I need to be able to reproduce the issue you are facing to provide a solution.     I’m really desperate by now …
    I try as best I can to describe the problem. I am a beginner in the field and my English is not very good either. I ask for leniency :)

    When I go to my page via Firefox (I always use the browser), I can see everything as normal and I can make changes in the backend area in the meantime to edit my page. But when I call my site via my mobile phone or other browser, I get an error message or programming code that means that my website is not visibly correctly.
    I hope you can start with my explanation …

    Hi anabela,

    We haven’t forgotten you. I had a look at your site on mobile and I get the same results as you, it’s because you are using the JetPack plugin. I’m not sure exactly which setting you should uncheck in there, but it’s likely something like JetPack should present a mobile version of your site. Please try to look for that setting in the JetPack plugin.

    Hi Rikard,
    it works again!!! Many Thanks!!! I deactivated the mobile version under Settings in the Jetpack Plugin and now you can see my page mobile again. I really thank you very much for your help.
    One question I still have: My Enfold Theme is currently running on the 4.2.6 version (very outdated) but unfortunately the update does not work. I am afraid that I will have problems at some point. I have already tried a few ways to update but unfortunately I do not succeed

    Hi Anabela,

    I’m not a moderator, so there may be a better answer….but since you need to update to 4.5.x, you’ll likely have to do it via FTP instead of through WordPress.
