Hi, I have been having some difficulties trying to upload files to a particular site that has not been touched in quite some time. Whenever I try to upload images I receive a HTTP error. My files are not large at all. I tried looking into this myself and found that going into the WP PHP to increase memory limit might work, however I keep getting warnings to not go in there so I am a little nervous I’ll screw things up if I do! The theme won’t even update. It’s a bit of a mess and I’m just going in it now to update/fix some things for her.
Any help would be immensely appreciated.
Thank you!

Is this why the theme would not update? Because the new theme update is not compatible with PHP version 5.6?
Also, is there a way to view what PHP version you are currently using and how to update it? I know this is on the hosting side of things but figured I would ask. Is that typical to not be able to update PHP versions if your hosting plan is pretty old? I guess the hosting that domain was under was apparently unable to support newer PHP versions?
Thanks!
February 20, 2019 at 7:56 pm #1069656Hi,
the only thing u need to do is simple ask godaddy to move you on a newer server and you are done :)

BasilisFebruary 23, 2019 at 2:15 am #1070528Thanks for the response. So does the newest version of Enfold not support PHP 5.6? I was unable to update the theme on one of the sites and as soon as I switched to 7.2, I was able to update, so anything below that is not supported by newer Enfold versions?
Thanks!
February 23, 2019 at 7:53 pm #1070766Hi BBM,
Enfold and WordPress still work with php5.6.3 but not lower. Did you get it working or not yet?
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 23, 2019 at 8:01 pm #1070775Hi Victoria,
Thank you for the info! That is definitely why it was not updating. She had 5.6 on hers and another site I was working on had 5.6 also installed. As soon as I updated it 7.2 it magically updated! The only thing that sucked with the other site was that she was forced to purchase a newer hosting plan because her older one did not support newer PHP versions. Godaddy kind of sucks with that.
Thanks!

February 26, 2019 at 5:28 pm #1071887I did have one other question actually. This website: boldmovesrealestate.com is not allowing me to update the theme here either.
I get this error message:
An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.Do you know what this is all about? The PHP is on 5.6.3 and WordPress itself has been updated to most current version as well.
I attached the log in credentials below.
Thank you so much
February 27, 2019 at 4:56 pm #1072310I also should note that I just updated the PHP to 7.3 and it is still not allowing me to update the theme. I keep getting this message: An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.
Wordpress is also up to date.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
March 1, 2019 at 8:58 am #1072973Hi,
Sorry for the problem. The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

Well, if you cannot update the theme on some of those, that’s what you will have to do, and generate the keys too, yes.

Yes, there you get the latest version and all other updates will be available when you add the license key to the theme options.
If you need further assistance please let us know.

Please check the plugins docs:
It does not matter which Enfold you download, you can upload the same zip to all websites, just add different keys later.

Sorry for the late reply, from what I understand when Theme Forest used the API before the licenses were bundled, but now you need to use the tokens, so create a different token for each of your sites. If you have 4 sites then create 4 tokens with your licenses. There won’t be a cross check against the tokens and your site, as long as each is different. The check is if the token is valid.
While doing this please use incognito mode and remember your Theme Forest account is limited on the number of calls, so if you try to check for a update you may need to wait 24 hours to get a positive response. I believe testing the token and checking for a update both count towards your limit.
I hope this helps, the support team at Theme Forest could probably explain the move to tokens better.Best regards,
MikeApril 18, 2019 at 5:11 pm #1092466Hi,
So I downloaded the entire zip folder (all files and documentation) from my theme forest account then went into appearance and clicked upload new theme with zip folder and it did not work. I do have this plugin you mentioned above installed and activated on the website as well and I still can not update. It just says “Something went wrong”.
Next, I was planning on creating a token but I can’t even update the theme to begin with.
Do you need the wordpress logins?
I appreciate all of your help on this frustrating issue :-/
Thank you
April 19, 2019 at 4:04 am #1092544Hi,
As I read your description of your steps it sounds like you tried to upload the themeforest-4519990-enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme-wordpress-theme.zip that includes the documentation and extra files, which will not work. You need to open that file and find the enfold.zip inside, which is the one you can upload.
I tried to take a look at your site to see if there was anything else that might cause future issues, but I couldn’t login. The login like is probably too old now.
I would be happy to install your update if you wish via ftp, and avoid future frustrations. Please include an admin login & FTP access in the Private Content area.Best regards,

I found that both of your sites have “PHP ZipArchive Extension” disabled, this is why when you upload a zip file you get a server error.
Thank you for the FTP access to the second site (kate), I renamed your current theme to “enfold-old” then I uploaded the new “enfold” and checked that your site is working correctly. Please also check for yourself.
Once you are happy you, (or I) can delete the “enfold-old” via ftp, (not the WP theme page)
Should for some reason you wish to roll-back to the old version, it’s easy to do, simply rename the new “enfold” to “enfold-new” via ftp and then rename “enfold-old” to “enfold” then refresh your page.
But when I login via FTP to the first site I get an empty directory, please check the details again and make sure that the directory is “/” and not the user name.Best regards,

Thanks for the cPanel login, I found that your actual theme folder is in a different directory, Please see the screenshot in Private Content area.
So I uploaded the new theme and renamed them as before, it seems to be working fine, but please check.
If all is fine then please delete the “enfold-old” via the cPanel, or I could do it for you :)Best regards,
