Hello,
I don’t want the Alt text always showing when I am hovering over an image. In the masonry gallery I activated the title to be visible when hovering over the image. But then additionally to this the Alt text information appears. So the exact same text is showing twice when hovering over an image which looks kind of stupid.
I did some research here in the forum and found this link: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/image/#remove-image-alt-title-on-hover
Unfortunately it is not explained where exactly this code has to be placed. It says “It is a browser feature but it is possible to hide them by adding following code to Functions.php file of your child theme in Appearance > Editor”.
I don’t know anything about CSS or programming. So when I go to this editor I get a warning which says I should not change anything in this theme otherwise it might be broken afterwards. Also I don’t understand where exactly I need to put this text.
So right now I am a little bit scared that I might break something and haven’t put the text code anywhere yet.
Another person in the forum also wrote that this code didn’t work at all with the Masonry gallery. Also I need to know if the Alt text can still be found by Google search engines when placing this code into the theme? Or does this destroy any possibility that the website can be found through Google search?
Best regards

Please include an admin login & FTP access in the Private Content area and I will place the code for you. Also include a link to your masonry page so I can ensure it is working for you. This code will remove the alt text from all images, is that what you want, or just the masonry?
I believe Google will still see your alt text, just not your visitors.Best regards,
MikeMay 27, 2019 at 8:44 pm #1104578Hello Mike,
I think I made a mistake. I want to remove the title text which shows when I am hovering over the image inside the masonry gallery. It is actually not the Alt text which is showing. But I still would like to show the title hover effect within the masonry gallery (white bar pops up at the bottom of a picture with the title text in it).
If I clear my title description in the image file the browser hover effect dissapears. But then the white bar doesn’t contain any text anymore. So I would need a solution for just removing the browser hover effect but let the title text stay how it is.I hope you could understand what I mean.
Best regards

thank you for offering your help. I am not sure if I want to give my personal data to someone here in the forum. Is there a way that you can tell me how to fix this without getting access to my account?
Right now I am tending towards not using this “show title” function at all. If I check “display neither” then of course my problem is solved.May 29, 2019 at 8:03 pm #1105269Hi,
Unfortunately we would need account access to workout the coding specific to your site.
Best regards,
