Hello – Is there a way to reduce the spacing between the Text Block and Easy Slider on my homepage at https://www.dominiquehurley.com ? I looked and none of the options are for padding. Is there a line of code I can put somewhere? If so, please explain in not-too-techy language. Thanks.
Also, under my menu, there are 2 lines – so extra padding there too. Not sure why the 2 lines.

April 1, 2021 at 12:13 pm #1291751Hey dominiquehurley,
Thank you for the inquiry.
Have you tried moving the text block inside a column? That should decrease the space above the slider. You could also set a negative bottom margin to the column to pull the slider upwards, decreasing the space further between it and the text block.

IsmaelApril 1, 2021 at 12:24 pm #1291758Wonderful, Ismael. That worked. Thank you. What about those double thin grey lines at the top. I don’t remember seeing those before. Are they normal? This page, for example at Kriesi, has 1. I have 2. I see the screenshot I pasted from Dropbox didn’t work above, but it’s at the top of my homepage, under the menu. Thank you.
April 4, 2021 at 9:02 am #1292179Hi,
Thanks for the update. Did you check your settings for the header height under Enfold->Header? If that is not the problem, then please include admin WordPress login details in private so that we can have a closer look.

RikardApril 5, 2021 at 3:30 pm #1292516Thanks Rikard – please see Temporary Login link in Private. There may have been a time when one of your team helped me shrink the header with custom code. I’d actually like it to return to your default bigger Fixed+Shrinking version. The important thing is I don’t want the 2 grey lines.
I reduced the image size and so my opt-in will be above the fold. This may have been why I asked to have it shrunk years ago. Thanks again for your help.
April 7, 2021 at 1:16 am #1292947Hi,
Thank you for the info.
We set the Header > Header Layout > Header Size from slim to large to increase the height of the header, but it did not work. Only then that we noticed that the site is still using a very old version of the theme, v4.5.7. You will have to upgrade the theme to the latest version, 4.8.1, and toggle or temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings afterwards.

April 8, 2021 at 7:58 am #1293199Hi,
Thank you for the update.
Please ask the third party developer to download the latest version of the theme from your or their Themeforest account and upload it manually via FTP. This should work fine as long as they did not do massive modification to the core or parent files and that they have installed a child theme.
For more info about FTP update, please forward the following documentation.

IsmaelMay 27, 2021 at 2:37 pm #1302663Hello – My developer updated the theme from 4.4 to 4.8 and the problem fixed itself. Thanks. I hadn’t realized that the automated updates were no longer happening.
However, in reviewing my site to make sure everything was OK, I see that the circular photos on this page are all wonky (different shapes and sizes). They were fine before – all exact circles. The original photos are not square but I had chosen the option 180 x 180 on the side, so that wasn’t an issue before. Can you tell why? https://www.dominiquehurley.com/spiritual-photo-tips-index. It now seems to be sourcing from the original upload, which is indeed not square.
If I re-upload an original square image (like with 1st photo – context), it goes back to circle.
Can you advise? Do I need to re-upload new images for all of them?

May 28, 2021 at 1:51 pm #1302830Hi,
Welcome back! It’s been a while.
Have you tried editing the Image elements and re-selecting the square thumbnail? You may need to do this manually for every image element.
We also noticed that a “resize” parameter or query var is prepended to the image URL, which might be causing the issue. Did you install an image optimization plugin?
Best regards,
IsmaelMay 28, 2021 at 3:35 pm #1302860Hi Isamel – yes, her schedule was heavily booked. Glad to have that done.
To answer your question, I did try to manually edit and reselect 180 x 180. That didn’t work.
She did install an image optimization plugin as my site was way too heavy image wise (being a blogger artist/ photographer). But that was before I created the circles and it was fine until 2 days ago when she updated.
So shall I just re-upload square images? I don’t think I have used the circle feature anywhere else on my site, so it’s likely just this one page.
May 31, 2021 at 6:19 am #1303067Hi,
Does it work correctly when the image plugin is disabled? You may need to upload the images again if the issue persist after disabling the plugin.
Best regards,
IsmaelMay 31, 2021 at 1:44 pm #1303174I’m afraid disabling the plugin might overburden my site with heavy images – not sure how that works. I’ll just re-upload images since I know it’s not throughout my whole site. Thank you.
June 1, 2021 at 11:33 am #1303390Hi,
Disabling the image optimization plugin should not affect images that are already optimized. The only thing you should be concern about is when you are continuously uploading images to the site. The new images will not be optimized since the plugin is disabled.
Thank you for your patience.
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 1, 2021 at 1:46 pm #1303418Thank you Ismael. I decided to simply re-upload square images and that worked. I don’t use the circle feature often so I’m fine with that solution. We can close this thread now. Again, many thanks.
