    Hi,
I uploaded a mp4 video on my “wp-content-uploads” and would like to open it on lightbox mode. What should I do please?
Note, I can’t upload it to YouTube, therefore can’t use such comfortable YouTube link.

    Regards
    Jens

    Hi leftm!

Please add “?iframe=true” to the end of your mp4 video link as following

    http://yourdomain.com/your-video.mp4?iframe=true

    Cheers!

    Hi Yigit,
thanks. I tried and it works so that a window opens in lightbox mode, but the movie starts via Windows Media Player separately.
The movie doesn’t run within the lightbox.

    It doesn’t look user friendly.

How can I run the movie within the lightbox window?

    Regards

    Hi,
excuse me, but nothing is fixed.

The Video with link ending on .mp4?iframe=true
will not play the Video in the lightbox.

The Video plays in an additional window with WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER. That is not the aim.

The Video should Play in the ENFOLD Lightbox.

Could you please help for that? Thanks in advance.

    Regards

    Hey!

Do you mind creating a temporary admin login and posting it here privately? It does work fine on my local installation.

    Regards,
    Yigit

    Hi!

I checked your website on Safari, Firefox and Chrome and it is working fine on my end. I asked my teammates to check your website on their windows machines. Please kindly wait to hear from them.

    Hey!

I think that happens in internet explorer by default when you click on a video link in the browser. You might be able to change it at Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs > Set File Associations though I’m not sure. Unfortunately that is the default behaviour of internet explorer and I don’t think it’s possible for a website to change that, it’s user preferences.

If you use youtube or vimeo then it should not happen though.

Here are some instructions if your using an older copy of Windows, http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/internet-explorer-does-not-open-links-to-audio-or-video-files/.

    Cheers!

    Hi Elliott,
    thanks for your reply.
Im am running WINDOWS 8.1. and INTERNET EXPLORER 11. WINDOWS MEDIA Player is not the preferred application running Videos.

The current solution, running Videos in a new separate Windows outside of ENFOLD lightbox, can not be forwarded to INTERNET EXPLORER user. This is strange and looks not professional I feel.

I think that more than 50% of Internet user run WINDOWS. Therefore please lets develop ENFOLD, that Videos will run within the lightbox, even if the user runs INTERNET EXPLORER.

    Could you improve anything?

    Hi!

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do change this behaviour (it has nothing to do with the theme), you’re linking a media file directly and IE simply treats this differently.

I think a good solution would be to create a separate page with the video inserted in the page content (either using Enfold ALB > Video or Add Media) and then link that page instead of the media file directly.

    Hi Josue,

I am still not happy about the IE + Enfold solution that Videos will be opened in Windows Media Player and not within your nice lightbox modul. It is strange that there is no solution for that? I have never seen such “stupid” display of Videos within a homepage. Excuse me.

If you have a solution please forward this.

Until this, I tried to create a separet page with your Video modul and link this to the mp4 file.

    2 Question please:
How can I create a window shut down button, because your modul has no button for this? (like the cross button of lightbox)
How can I create a black transparent Background around the centered Video modul. The Background should be like around your lightbox?

    Regards Jens

    Hi Jens!

As i explained in my previous reply this is not something we have imposed or configured to be that way, it’s how Internet Explorer is set to open media files linked directly, there is nothing we can do to change this behaviour from our end.

The idea i had was to create a separate Page (set template to Blank no header/footer) and place the video there (wrapped in the Video module). Once you have this done replace the mp4 link with the URL of the new Page (like http://website.com/separeted-video?iframe=true).

    Hi Josue,

I tried to create a separet page with your Video module and link this to the mp4
    so as you recommended

    2 Question please:

    1. in the new window, how can I create a window CLOSE DOWN button, because your modul has no button for this? (like the cross button of lightbox)

    2. How can I create a black transparent Background around the centered Video modul for that window. The Background should be like around your standard lightbox?

Could you please give me any assistance?

    Regards Jens

    #454770

You don’t need that, once you have the Page ready simply link it (in the other Page) like this to make it open as a Lightbox.

    http://website.com/separeted-page?iframe=true

I got this to work fine, but when using it with a YouTube video instead, is there a way to make the video autoplay when opened in the lightbox?
    Current link:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2FPZax-4-g?rel=0&autoplay=1

    On page:
    http://www.bigboytravel.com/europe/germany/munich/freewalkingtour/

    Thanks

    #535174

    Hey!

Enfold lightbox activation doesn’t enable autoplay by default, you’d need to create your own lightbox activation and include the autoplay parameter for youtube links.
