    Hi,
I bought the Enfold theme recently; I have a token and everything – but suddenly the layout (certain headings) went back to the previous problems when I did not have the latest version of Enfold. As I understood, I don’t need to make an update as it should be done automatically with the token??! Although I put the correct code to show the headings they are not showing the way they are supposed to. Also, the circle/button is shown again in my main menu. All of this has been solved with your help but now everything came back without me touching anything except changing the date of a heading. This is really very annoying, please help.

    Hey karinkropik,

Thanks for the screenshots, I can’t see the problems in your screenshot on your actual site though? If you removed any custom CSS, then please add it back again so that we can inspect the problem.

Second screenshot; if you are referring to the warning, then that is just that, a warning. You are closing the added markup, so it’s nothing to worry about. It’s just added to alert users to the fact that the layout can break if markup isn’t closed properly.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

I have not changed any CSS. I just noticed that I don’t have the latest version of Enfold and that I need to install the update manually. Could you please do that? I just uploaded it but did not activate it bc I have never done it before. I think this is the problem. The thing is, with the help of your colleague I had changed all of the warnings with the proper code and your plugin for that purpose, but now everything went back by itself and it shows the old code and the warnings and all the other changes we already did are gone. I don’t want having to change everything again from scratch. Also, the headings are not shown correctly.
Here is an old version of how they are supposed to look like:
    https://img.savvyify.com/image/9fYbu
But it looks like this – way too small and not the Layout it should have:
    https://img.savvyify.com/image/9fYbu
As well, it keeps showing the circles and the lower menu should actually also be in the light orange and not red:

Sorry, here the correct screenshot for the “way too small and not Layout it should have”:

    Hi,

Thanks for the screenshots. Please try this CSS as well:

    .sub-menu .avia-menu-text {
      border: none;
    }

    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

thanks, the headers are shown correctly now; but:
    1) I still have the problem with the circles around the active tab and that the 2) orange colour is not shown on the headers below the active tabs.
    3) And on the start page, there is a border shown below the transparent header (around the sub headings) which was not there initially. Screenshots:

    https://img.savvyify.com/image/9f1Ux

    4) As well, can you please let me know if in future the theme will be updated automatically via the token or if it has to be done manually. Please let me know if those issues disappear if I update the theme?

    Thanks, Karin

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I tried checking your site again, but it’s returning a 500 internal server error on all pages except the home page. Please get that fixed first of all, then we can have a look at your problems.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

The site worked fine when I checked it last, so I guess all you need to do is to restore a backup.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. Adding CSS won’t cause a 500 internal server error, where exactly did you put them? Please try them again under Enfold->General Styling->Quick CSS. If Mikes solution worked before, then it should very likely work now as well. If you should have any further problems, then please let us know.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,
I put it into Appearance/Customize/Additional CSS.
Yes, I have further problems – I cannot use Mike’s solutions, because regarding to the circle around the active tab, I have removed the code from Quick CSS and it is not there anymore (just checked), but the circle returned. So I still need help on that. Also, please answer my question regarding the update of the Theme. I was able to make the update of Enfold to the latest version but then my whole site broke down and I had to install a backup again. I have an active child theme, is there a detailed guide available of how to update it without breaking the layout/making the site disappear? Last time Mike did the update for me. And what about the files in the Dynamic Avia Folder? My hosting provider said that they manually had to delete those files; could that be the reason for the error?
    Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I cleared the cache and minified files from your caching/performance plugins, and that removed the borders from the sub menus. You might want to deactivate all types of cache and minification so that you know if your changes are applying or not.

If you want to delete old theme files, then you can activate Delete Old CSS And JS Files? option under Enfold->Performance.

I’m not sure which error you are getting when updating, so I can’t really give you any general instructions. We could help you out with updating, but it would be great if you could stick to one problem at a time.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

thanks; I just checked the site again and now everything looks like it’s supposed to. The support of my hosting provider said they found some malware which they deleted; maybe this caused the error message. I’m glad everything works well again.

Could you please help me with the updating of the theme?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Yes, we can help you out with updating. We would need FTP login details as well, please post them in private. Also verify that you have backups of the site, in case something should go wrong.

    Hi,

If the updates are not coming through via the theme backend of your installation, then please try using this plugin instead: https://envato.com/market-plugin/. If that should not work either, then we’ll update via FTP for you.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. Where exactly did your layout break? It will likely break either way, it doesn’t really matter who updates the site. If you want to narrow things down, then you can activate the parent theme and see if the problems goes away then. If it does, then the problem is likely coming from your child theme. If that is the case, then you can remove all the code from it, then add the blocks back one by one in order to check what is causing the problem.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

I am having MAJOR issues after the most recent update. I have my site set up to have the enfold theme as the parent theme. And a child theme as the mainly used content set up. It’s not loading any content at all. If I’m on my phone I can try and scroll and you can see content scrolling. On a computer it does not do this. I use site ground as the host for my site. I restored all files and content back to October 20th. And it still is having the same issue. If I change it from the enfold child theme as the active theme, over to the enfold parent theme, some content shows, but it’s no where near what is set up in the child theme. It only shows basic headers and no menus. I have not changed any css, and have not made any changes to the site for a few weeks. I did upload the newest version of the theme to see if it would help. It did nothing. I purchased a new duplicate theme to see if that was the problem. Didn’t work and now I’m just out on money for no reason. I re uploaded the child theme from to the most current version I can find. And still no content on any page. This the morning of October 24th.

    Hi Karin,

I’ve updated the theme for you without any problem, please review your site.

    Hi kewebworks,

Please open a new thread and include WordPress admin login details in private, so that we can have a closer look at your site. We can’t help more than one user per thread unfortunately.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

Sorry for the confusion. I see that your inital installation has been renamed, that is likely why it’s not updating automatically. Your child theme is set to use the renamed theme installation, that is why it’s still used. If you simply install a child theme from here, then the new version should be used: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/child-theme/. You can copy the content of your current child theme into the new after that.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

It’s installed, but not active. We would never intentionally rename the theme as it can cause problems, and we most definitely would never create custom theme images as that which is used in your child theme. I’m guessing that someone has built this site for you?

Anyway, I installed a default child theme for you, but some images are missing due to them pointing to a different domain when it’s activated. Please see private for any example. You can activate the Enfold child theme in order for you to see the problem yourself. Why are some of your images added from that domain? I wanted to check the content of your current child theme, but the file editor functionality is turned off on your installation.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

Yes, but the editor functionality is likely turned off by your hosting provider. You will have to reach out to them and ask for it to be turned on.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
