Hi there,
I need to get from 4.1.2 -> 4.5.1
Going directly causes a white screen of death for me, so I assume I need to take some intermediate steps.
What versions should I incrementally upgrade to, & where do I download them from?
Thanks,
JasonDecember 10, 2018 at 6:23 am #1042924Hey Jason,
Sorry for the problem. The update to 4.5 has to be done manually unfortunately, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
Also please read this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/updating-to-enfold-4-5-and-validating-personal-token/
I would suggest that you update on a staging version first if you are having problems with the production site.
Best regards,

Thanks for your reply, I actually did manually update the theme via FTP, & got the white screen of death afterwards.
The only thing I can think of may be caching, I’ll try turning this off before updating again.
PS: The personal token is already in place.
Thanks,
JasonDecember 10, 2018 at 1:23 pm #1043048Hi Jason,
Thanks for the feedback. Did you remove the old version before you installed the new version? Otherwise it’s likely that you will get some type of error. Also, do you know which version of PHP you are running on the server?
If you should need help updating then please post admin WordPress login details and FTP login details in private. We also need to verify that you have backups of the site? If possible then I would recommend that you update on a staging site first.
Best regards,

No, I overwrote the existing theme folder. Running PHP 7.1. I’ll give that a shot (removing the old version first) & report back.
Thanks,
JasonDecember 11, 2018 at 2:28 am #1043502Hi Rikard,
I disabled all caching, removed the old theme, & extracted the latest version (all via FTP).
All good, no issues.
Thanks,
