    Hey Kriesi support,

    My copy of Gravity forms does not appear to be working. When I try to add a new form in Gravity Forms, the screen just sort of dims and I don’t see the “Create a new form” dialog box.

    I tried importing a form from one of my other sites. At first this seems to work alright (though not a great solution), however when I edit the form I cannot add any new fields or really modify the form in any way.

    I have tried deactivating all plugins, but this does not seem to do anything.

    I appreciate your help, thanks!

    Hi,

    What happens in the WordPress default theme? Have you contacted gravity forms support about this?

    Best regards,
    Jordan Shannon

    Jordan,

    This does not happen with the default WordPress themes and Gravity Forms runs normally. I have another website running Enfold Version: 4.0.2 and this is not an issue either.

    The site where this issue is happening (driveweb.com) is running the current version of Enfold (4.2)

    Thanks,
    Julian

    Hi,

    Please view the following:

    Are you running into the same locking-list error on the other sites?

    Hey Jordan,

    Thanks for looking into this for me. Sorry if I don’t understand, but is this screenshot applicable to my site, driveweb.com?

    The other site that I manage is bardac.com. As I said, it uses Enfold version 4.0.2 and does not have the issue I am experiencing with Enfold v4.2.

    Thanks again,
    Julian

    Hi,

    Yes that image is from the driveweb.com site.

    Hey Jordan,

    Thanks for that. I took a screen of the console on my other site and did not see the locking-list errors. As I said, my other site is running 4.0.2. What do you think might be causing this? Thanks again for your help.

    #873458

    Hi,

    This may be a compatibility issue between v.4.2 and the plugin itself. I’m not quite sure what could be the exact cause and will like likely have to report this to the devs before a fix is found. Just to be sure, if you are able to set up a staging install of 4.2 with the plugin please test to see if the issue continues.

    Best regards,
    Jordan Shannon

    Jordan,

    I think that might be the case. For nowI will continue building forms in my 4.0.2 install and then import them over to my other site running Enfold v4.2. Please keep me posted if you are able to find a fix for this issue though!

    Thanks.

    Hey,

    Any word on this? I’d like to update Enfold at some point but will wait until there is a fix on GravityForms compatibility issues. Thanks!

    #882270

    Hi,

    Unfortunately, there has not been any new feedback given on this issue as of yet but rest assured the devs are always working to get this improved and sorted out.

    Jordan,

    How would I install a previous version of Enfold? Not only does Gravity forms not load, but it conflicts with Enfold to the point where pages don’t load for editing. The Avia Layout Builder just spins. When I create a new page I can’t click into the body field for editing. Interestingly enough, I can still create/edit page titles.

    I tried to install Enfold 4.0.2 from my other site by copying the theme files over. However when doing so, I got a LayerSlider error (should have taken a screen shot) and was unable to access anything in the backend.

    Thanks for your help,
    Julian

    Hi,

    What was the exact error you received?

    Best regards,
    Jordan Shannon

    #883653

    Jordan,

    So I uploaded v4.0.2 again and this time it seemed to work. I can access access the backend and do not see the layerslider error I was seeing before that was blocking my access to the backend.

    BUT, now I am not able to edit anything using the Avia Layout Editor at all, even with GravityForms deactivated. I cannot add the Layout Editor to a new page and when I load one of my pre-existing pages, a circle just spins where the layout elements are normally displayed.

    Something new since installing 4.0.2…on my wp-admin page (when logging in and out), I see the following error message beneath the login fields:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined method aviaShortcodeTemplate::__destruct() in /home/driveweb/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/audio-player.php on line 53

    Could this error be part of the reason my Layout Editor doesn’t seem to be responding?

    Thanks,
    Julian

    Hi,

    Have you attempted to disable all active plugins to see if this issue resolves. Also, please see the following:

    Hey Jordan and the Kriesi team,

    So this issue is still present on my site, but I can maybe provide more details. To recap, I was receiving a weird, grayed-out screen when I tried to create a new form in Gravity Forms. There is a screenshot of it in the thread above. This makes Gravity Forms unusable.

    I have tried disabling plugins with Enfold active and it does not fix the issue. I have tried reinstalling a fresh copy of the theme from ThemeForest, which didn’t work either. What DOES fix the issue is activating a default theme, such as Twenty Fifteen. Going back to Enfold breaks the plugin(s) again.

    However, I am now realizing this issue is not just specific to Gravity Forms. Whenever ANY plugin tries to initiate a popup menu of some kind, the screen just turns gray as if something is blocking the popup.

    For example, in Gravity Forms, the “New Form” dialog is a popup. Trying to initiate the New Form popup makes the screen turn gray (and no popup is visible). In the newest release of Wordfence, there are some popups that appear to walk the user through virus scan scheduling, etc. However on my driveweb.com site, these popups do not appear and the screen just turns gray.

    On my other site, bardac.com (Enfold v4.0.2) I do not have any of these issues and all popups appear as expected. I’d like to update Enfold on that site, and have tried before, but the same issue arises so I can’t.

    Any thoughts on what might be blocking these popups? I’d really like to try and get this issue resolved. Again, this still happens when I have deactivated plugins, including Wordfence, WP Super Cache, etc.

    Thanks again for your help,
    Julian

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update. The following errors exist even before you try to create a form.

    load-scripts.php?c=0&load[]=utils,jquery-ui-core,jquery-ui-widget,jquery-ui-position,jquery-ui-menu,wp-a11y,jquery-ui-autocomplete,heartbeat,jquery-ui-toolt&load[]=ip&ver=4.9.5:12 Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
    locking-list.min.js:1 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'interval' of undefined

    Please ask the plugin authors if they’re loading their own version of jQuery. This seems to be a common issue with the plugin.

    // https://github.com/olefredrik/FoundationPress/issues/1076

    This thread provides a filter to move the location of the scripts.

    Kriesi team,

    Thanks for the help on this issue, however the problem still persists and is now really becoming an issue as I cannot update Enfold on one of my sites due to GravityForms completely breaking.

    Clearly, I am not the only one experiencing problems with GravityForms and the newer versions of Enfold. Below are links to recent posts that describe similar issues to what I am experiencing:

    The first link I provided (from May 2018) seems to detail the exact problem I am still having. I tried copying their code into my functions.php and sadly, it did not fix my problem. Granted, I am not using a child theme, but that would not matter unless I were to update Enfold again, correct? (thus, deleting my newly inserted code).

    It’d be awesome if the user that posted the above fix (wagwag) would chime in, but I doubt he/she will see this. I would reply to that thread, however, it is closed.

    I have reached out to GravityForms for help, but considering everything works as intended with default themes (and with previous versions of Enfold – see convo above), it really seems like this is an Enfold issue. I, and I’m sure other GravityForms users, would sincerely appreciate a fix for this. GravityForms is an incredibly popular form building tool and it seems shortsighted that Enfold would not be compatible with it.

    Thanks again for your time,
    Julian

    Hi,

    The code from the first thread removes a few of the layer slider functions. I’m not really sure how they’re affecting the Gravity plugin though. Did you purge the cache after adding the code? Have you tried moving the location of the GF scripts?

    add_filter("gform_init_scripts_footer", "init_scripts");
    function init_scripts() {
       return true;
    }

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #967928

    Hey Ismael,

    Sorry for referencing that thread. I thought it might be relevant as both my issue and theirs involved GF and Enfold, and both started occurring around November of last year. But I really appreciate your help and working with me on this issue.

    I did try adding the above snippet to the top of functions.php, and wiping my cache, but the problem still persists.

    Here are some additional screenshots of what I’m seeing in the WP backend, in addition to errors that I’m seeing when I inspect the page.

    What Enfold looks like when I click “Add New” on the forms page of GravityForms
    These are the errors I get when I try to create a new form with GravityForms / Enfold active.
    What Enfold looks like when I try to load the Avia Layout Builder with GravityForms active. This does not change.
    These are the errors I get when the Avia Layout Builder is *trying* to load while GravityForms is active.

    None of these errors exist when I use a default theme :( I did reach out to GravityForms about this, and I have provided their response in the Private Content portion of this message.

    Thanks so much for your assistance and for continuing to work with me on this issue. I hope we’re able to work out a solution soon.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the info. And I’m very sorry for the late response. Please disable the admin script merge. Add this code in the wp-config.php file.

    define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false );

    This should isolate the form issue. Post the FTP login details in the private field so that we could test it.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #972446

    Wow…thanks so much Ismael!! This seems to have fixed the problem! Did you still need the FTP details?

    Again, thanks so so much for helping. I’m excited to use GravityForms with Enfold once again.

    #972494

    Hi,

    If the issue is fixed, then FTP does not need to be shared at the moment. If you need additional help, please let us know here in the forums.

    Best regards,
    Jordan Shannon
