I just noticed that the Google Maps widget on my footer isn’t working. Neither is the map element on my contact page. I read on I had to get a Google API key for the map, which I did, but I’m not sure what to do now. Any help will be appreciated.
February 10, 2019 at 11:59 am #1065091Hey ekam520,
Thanks for the login details, I see that you are running an old version of the theme. Could you please try to update to 4.5.3 first and then add your API key under Enfold->Google Services once you have updated please? The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
Also please read this thread once you have updated: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/updating-to-enfold-4-5-and-validating-personal-token/
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 10, 2019 at 9:15 pm #1065201Thanks, Rikard. Theme is updated and the plugin is installed. I had to create another Google API before it was finally accepted.
However, when I went to update the address in the Google maps widget I received a message that said “Too many requests at once, please refresh the page to complete geocoding”. I’m not sure what that means because I only tried to fetch coordinates one time. My maps are not displaying properly.

Have you added your billing details on your Google account that’s connected with the API key?
Best regards,
