Hi dear Enfold Team,
I’m having trouble displaying a google map. What I have done so far:
– get a not limited Google API key and…
– …implemented on Google Services page in Enfold
– received a positive confirmation after check (Last time we reviewed, we were able to connect to Google Maps with your API key)
– Entered the Map-address and clicked on the button “Get coordinates”
– Error message received “An error has occurred! Too many requests at once Please wait a few seconds before requesting coordinates again”
– tried several times, waited almost an hour
– Pages cache emptied
– disabled plugins
– Credit card data deposited with Google… all without success!
Can you help me?
Best regards

May 28, 2019 at 4:40 am #1104632Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.5.7) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. If that doesn’t help then please post admin login details in private so that we can have a closer look.

RikardMay 28, 2019 at 4:58 pm #1104902Hi Rikard,
thank you for the good tip to bring Enfold up to date – I should have done that myself automatically. Version 4.5.7 is now active.
After inserting the new Private Token Key, I was able to display the coordinates of latitude and longitude in the Google Maps module and the map appaered in the frontend – but after a moment also a usage notice and an OK button…
On the Google Services page at Enfold, I checked the Google API key to see if it is still working – unfortunately it does not!
“This API key did not connect to Google Maps.”I am completely unclear why the Google key suddenly no longer connects, after I’ve improved the situation by the enfold update publicly crucial.
In the private conent area you find the credentials of the site, so that you are able to take a closer look, if you want to.
Best regards
GrobiMay 28, 2019 at 5:15 pm #1104909…and I just saw, that the fullwidth sticky sub menu is not sticky anymore even though the sticky option is selected.
I use this sub menu parallel to the burger menu. Because this did not worked togehter well on another site, here I’m already following some advice from Mike to comment out a setting in menu.js if you want to use the sub menu and burger menu at the same time (see post #1065428). And until now is worked fine.
Cheers
GrobiJune 3, 2019 at 6:32 am #1106577Hi,
Thank you for the update.
Did you include the dev site as one of the http referrers?
// https://www.wpgmaps.com/documentation/ensuring-your-referrers-are-properly-inserted/
If you have any additional questions at this time we kindly ask that you open them up in a separate thread. The longer threads get in the forum, they become more difficult to support as they tend to drift off topic and they also make it troublesome for users trying to search for solutions. Keeping threads relevant to their original inquiry ensures that we can keep better track of what has been resolved and that users can more effectively find answers to similar issues they might be experiencing.
Thanks!

IsmaelJune 3, 2019 at 12:32 pm #1106677Hello Ismael,
thanks for your tip. The dev.Subdomain is now listed as an http-referral-URL (see below in the “Private Content” field) and the key is not restricted.
Unfortunately, this did not improve the appearance of the Google Map. And also again there is no connection possible. Even turning off all of the used plugins did not help. For your request: I understand your arguments and did not intend to distort the thread issue. Since the wrong behavior of the full-width menu happened exactly the same time as my Google Map issues, I suspected a possible connection and therefore described it here.
Of course, I will – as desired – thus open a new thread.
Best regards
GrobiJune 4, 2019 at 11:37 am #1107006Hi,
Thank you for the update.
Did you impose a daily request limit on the API? This is the current error in the console, which is related to the request quota or your billing account.
You have exceeded your request quota for this API. See https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages?utm_source=maps_js&utm_medium=degraded&utm_campaign=billing#api-key-and-billing-errors
_.Jc @ js?v=3.35&callback=aviaOnGoogleMapsLoaded:54And please check if the Geocoding API is enabled.

IsmaelJune 4, 2019 at 6:49 pm #1107230Hi Ismael,
that was a very good hint. On the hand the Geocoding API had a setting of 5000 requests in 100 seconds, but only one(!!!) access per day.
And the project was not linked to the page owner’s billing account. Unfortunately I have not noticed this before, although we had checked bank details, credit card and validity. Can you give me a hint, how to check that easily in future?Ismael, now the problem is solved, the map is displayed well.
Thank you for your help!
best regards
GrobiJune 5, 2019 at 6:13 am #1107362Hi,
Glad it’s fixed.
The google cloud documentation should give you more idea how billing account works.
