Dear Kriesi team,
this is me again :) Lately I didn’t have too much time to finally run my webpage, but today after adding some new items and updating the theme to newest version 3.3, I have noticed problem with gateway timeout error. English site available from link beta.lumifall.com is working fine, but while trying to access Polish version beta.lumifall.pl – the 504 gateway timeout error shows up. I was trying to find something about this problem on your forum, but nothing leads me to the solution.
Did you face with similar problem?
I will be grateful for any help you can provide.

LeszekAugust 21, 2015 at 9:26 am #491213Hello again,
it seems the problem is not related to the theme, when I was trying to resolve it on my own, I have discovered that changing “Language URL format” in WPML settings to “Language name added as a parameter” instead of “A different domain per language” solves the problem, both languages are working fine. It’s good to know at least where the problem is, but it helps only temporary, because I prefer second solution which doesn’t work.
This way or another, maybe some of you had similar problem and could share a bit of his/her experience.
Thank you and best regards.

LeszekAugust 21, 2015 at 12:20 pm #491305Hi again,
unfortunately I am returning, richer in new information. I did restore fully working backup from yesterday morning and I did update plugins one by one – I did update almost all of them and both version of my webpage worked fine. Eventually I did update Enfold theme to the newest 3.3.1 and the problem returned like a boomerang. And right now I am 100% sure that the problem with Gateway timeout error is caused by the update of theme.
I am just curious why it affected only to my site?
I will appreciate your help with this situation.
PS. Should I restore it once again or it’s better to leave it as it is (damaged)?

I’ve never heard about that problem before, you might want to restore it once again to see if it helps again?

LeszekAugust 24, 2015 at 1:37 pm #492172Hello again,
so I did restore my webpage from backup and it’s running well. After that, I have also updated all the plugins and the page (in both languages accessed from different domains) is still alive. I didn’t update the theme, I am still using 3.2.1 because I know it will crash it again. But I did discover another disturbing element – I can’t save font settings. But for this case I will start a new thread.

Is the site running on a shared hosting? Please ask your hosting provider to create a php info page. Post the php info url here.

IsmaelAugust 25, 2015 at 7:26 am #492651Hi,
I’m not sure why you are having those problems but it’s likely one of your plugins. Could you try deactivating all plugins and then use the latests version as the parent theme as the parent (I saw that you had 2 Enfold installations). You can then activate the plugins one by one to see which one is causing the problem.
Best regards,

LeszekAugust 25, 2015 at 8:37 am #492673Hello Rikard,
thanks for your reply. Yesterday I decided to make a “manual installation” of your newest theme in separate folder. Since I am using child theme, I just wanted to check if this will work. After installation I have renamed these folders, current and working folder I have changed to “enfold-x” and new one into “enfold”. The reaction was immediately, the Polish page (accessed from *.pl domain) stops responding and gateway error shows up again. After the restoration of the previous state by re-renaming directories – all works fine.

LeszekAugust 26, 2015 at 8:13 am #493332Dear Kriesi Team,
here comes small update regarding my problem. Yesterday I decided to double check everything once again, plugin by plugin and I have decided to manually update WPML to the newest available version – 3.2.6, after that I have also updated all plugins related to WPML and the problem disappeared. Right now, starting from last evening, everything is running properly, so I am really confused about the real reason of such strange behaviour of my site.
Sorry for bothering you with it and thank you for your support. I think we can close the topic.
