    Hi

    I can remember that I once was able to change the functions.php of the child theme in wordpress. I can not find the section anymore where I can change files directly in wordpress backend.

    Could you pls give me guide where to find this?

    Thanks,
    Bernhard

    Hi Bernhard,

    That should be available for you under Appearance->Theme Editor in the WordPress menu. If it’s not there on your installation, then please try reaching out to your hosting provider, as they might have removed that option for security reasons. It could also be removed by some security plugins.

    Best regards,

    As Rikard already said : This could be due to a security plugin you have installed. Editing in the backend is considered as a security risk – and is therefore often offered as an option to disable that function in these plugins.
    That behavior could also be set in wp-config: define( 'DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', true );
