    Hi, I have a fullwidth submenu with my post categories on my blog page. When I click at one of the categories, I get to the category archive page and the fullwidth submenu disappears.

    Is there a way to add the fwdth submenu on archive pages. I have tried severel codes in the forum but it all doesnt work for me.

    Is there a way to add breadcrumbs on the archive pages. I have added them to my blog page but they doesn’t show on archive pages. I have set the blog page under theme options and selected my own blog layout under the blog settings.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Peter,

    You would have to override the archive.php template in your child theme, or use one of the actions in that file to add that element. For instance:

    ava_after_main_title

    You can’t edit the archive template using the layout builder unfortunately.

    Hi Rikard,

    thank you very much for your fast reply.

    What code would I have to insert in the archive.php file to add that the fullwidth submenu and where would I have to insert it. This is the code of my archive.php file:

    ——–
    <?php
    if ( !defined(‘ABSPATH’) ){ die(); }

    global $avia_config, $more;

    /*
    * get_header is a basic wordpress function, used to retrieve the header.php file in your theme directory.
    */
    get_header();

    $showheader = true;
    if(avia_get_option(‘frontpage’) && $blogpage_id = avia_get_option(‘blogpage’))
    {
    if(get_post_meta($blogpage_id, ‘header’, true) == ‘no’) $showheader = false;
    }

    if($showheader)
    {
    echo avia_title(array(‘title’ => avia_which_archive()));
    }

    do_action( ‘ava_after_main_title’ );
    ?>

    <div class=’container_wrap container_wrap_first main_color <?php avia_layout_class( ‘main’ ); ?>’>

    <div class=’container template-blog ‘>

    <main class=’content <?php avia_layout_class( ‘content’ ); ?> units’ <?php avia_markup_helper(array(‘context’ => ‘content’,’post_type’=>’post’));?>>

    <?php

    $tds = term_description();
    if($tds)
    {
    echo “<div class=’category-term-description’>{$tds}</div>”;
    }
    ?>

    <?php
    $avia_config[‘blog_style’] = apply_filters(‘avf_blog_style’, avia_get_option(‘blog_style’,’multi-big’), ‘archive’);
    if($avia_config[‘blog_style’] == ‘blog-grid’)
    {
    global $posts;
    $post_ids = array();
    foreach($posts as $post) $post_ids[] = $post->ID;

    if(!empty($post_ids))
    {
    $atts = array(
    ‘type’ => ‘grid’,
    ‘items’ => get_option(‘posts_per_page’),
    ‘columns’ => 3,
    ‘class’ => ‘avia-builder-el-no-sibling’,
    ‘paginate’ => ‘yes’,
    ‘use_main_query_pagination’ => ‘yes’,
    ‘custom_query’ => array( ‘post__in’=>$post_ids, ‘post_type’=>get_post_types() )
    );

    $blog = new avia_post_slider($atts);
    $blog->query_entries();
    echo “<div class=’entry-content-wrapper’>”.$blog->html().”</div>”;
    }
    else
    {
    get_template_part( ‘includes/loop’, ‘index’ );
    }
    }
    else
    {
    /* Run the loop to output the posts.
    * If you want to overload this in a child theme then include a file
    * called loop-index.php and that will be used instead.
    */

    $more = 0;
    get_template_part( ‘includes/loop’, ‘index’ );
    }
    ?>

    <!–end content–>
    </main>

    <?php

    //get the sidebar
    if (avia_get_option(‘archive_sidebar’) == ‘archive_sidebar_separate’) {
    $avia_config[‘currently_viewing’] = ‘archive’;
    }
    else {
    $avia_config[‘currently_viewing’] = ‘blog’;
    }
    get_sidebar();

    ?>

    </div><!–end container–>

    </div><!– close default .container_wrap element –>

    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    ——

    And is there a way to add breadcrumbs on the archive page.

    Thanks a lot for your help!

    Best regards,

    Peter

    Hi,

    You can add the full width sub menu shortcode right after this line:

    if($showheader)
    {
    echo avia_title(array(‘title’ => avia_which_archive()));
    }

    Or use the “ava_after_main_title” hook as suggested. Example:

    add_action('ava_after_main_title', function() {
      if( is_archive() ) {
        echo do_shortcode( 'FULL WIDTH SUB MENU SHORTCODE HERE' );
      }
    });

    You may need to set the builder to debug mode in order to get the actual shortcode of the elements.

    // https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-layout-builder/#debug-mode

    Best regards,
    Ismael
