Dear Enfold-Support,
since a not to specific point of time, enfold’s full-width-slider gave up working.
Backend of the slider looks fine.
The content element is there in the frontend with height 0.
Then i discovered, that all the- -Tags are missing within the
- , which is meant to hold the slides.
I use most current WP and ENFOLD versions in a small multisite environment.
The slider used to work here.I do not know which change broke it.
So, i deactivated a series of plugins, without any effect. Can you please give a hint how to start investigating?
Thank you, Thomas
October 31, 2020 at 7:12 pm #1257302Hey subnoodle,
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend and we’ll post here what we can find:
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,
NikkoNovember 9, 2020 at 11:51 am #1259216Dear support, can you please provide an alternative mailaddress for the user?
I registered the user, deleted it ’cause of wrong name and get error:That username is currently reserved but may be available in a couple of days.
That email address has already been used. Please check your inbox for an activation email. It will become available in a couple of days if you do nothing.
Even a day later.
Thank you, Th.

Try using (Email address hidden if logged out) or you can just create a temporary admin account and delete it once the issue is fixed.

November 13, 2020 at 5:10 am #1260260Hi subnoodle,
Thanks for the admin access.
I have tried to check on it further but slider is not displaying the inner content of avia-slideshow-inner and there’s no js error that’s appearing, plugins and environment is similar with the other site that’s working properly.
Can we request for FTP access on your site that has the issue? we’ll need to have a deeper look at this.Best regards,

- there are two child templates
- enfold-child-vs
- enfold-child-nws
- both carry the indentical styles.css-files
- test.natur-wildnis-schule.de merges these styles into the “merged avia style”
- test.vogelsprache.de does not – but shoul identical (you can see it when you hover a menu item: it’s not getting solid color – but stays transparent
Why do the behaviors of both child themes differ? No idea here…
(as well full-width-slider as mentioned originally)Is the approach of using enfold with two different child theme not forseen?
Can you recommend a enfold-friendly way doing this, with wich prerequisits?Thank you, Th.
November 15, 2020 at 5:10 pm #1260590For some reason i assumed that the parent theme takes automatically in the child-stylesheet in case of ENFOLD (which would be a cool feature when it is optional in the settings).
It’s not the case.
I included the child styles and it works now.Still, the full-width- and normal slider do not work in one site.
Any new information about it?
Thank you,
Th.
November 16, 2020 at 5:54 am #1260638Hi Thomas,
I apologize for the delayed response.
The SFTP didn’t work but I don’t think it’s necessary anymore since the other site with Fullwidth Slider now works properly as I have checked today.
I think it might be just due to caching. As for questions related to multiple child themes, there won’t be any complication because you’ll need to choose the child theme to use and child themes won’t work unless you have chosen it as your theme, and the child theme contains information that points to the parent theme.
Best regards,
NikkoNovember 16, 2020 at 4:01 pm #1260737Dear Support,
we found the issue by random today.
It was not caching.
In one of the text blocks has been a Text like:This is the text containing a special >>important phrase<< which lead to an fatal parsing error
The “<” and “>” characters lead to errornous rendering which affected:
* No slider working
* Odd HTML-Closing/Opening-Tags lead to odd last content element and footer nestingWe just removed these characters and all works fine.
Please forward it to the editor-parsing-developers to fix it.,
Thank you,
ThomasNovember 17, 2020 at 3:00 am #1260872Hi Thomas,
I see and I apologize I wasn’t able to see that was the cause of the issue.
It’s actually a limitation in our builder and the workaround made for it is documented here: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-layout-builder/#using-special-characters
Thanks again for sharing how you resolved the issue.Best regards,
