Hi Kriesi-folk. I’m working in Enfold > Advanced Layout Editor. Although I have indicated in the Blog Post content elements that I want the full content of the blog post on both the Home page and the Blog Homepage, I get only a short excerpt and a read more link. Also, there is nowhere to amend that excerpt (to try and make it longer at least). I would like the full content of one post to appear on the homepage. I have tried every combination of tweaks I can think of and nothing changes. The Enfold version is 4.5.3.
September 6, 2019 at 5:57 am #1134728Hey Kate,
Sorry for the problem. I tried logging in but the details are now working, please check and verify. Also please try updating the theme to the latest version (4.6.1) to see if that helps: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 6, 2019 at 6:19 pm #1135047I re-purchased the theme (I had bought it a year earlier for this project, sigh) and confirmed it’s 4.6.1.
The problem persists though. No ability to access or edit excerpt length, and instruction in blog-post-element to show “full content” ignored.- This reply was modified 5 years, 3 months ago by kthompson.

Please deactivate all plugins one by one to check which one is causing this issue and let us know if this solves the problem.

VictoriaSeptember 7, 2019 at 8:12 pm #1135480Yeah… I had tried that previously with the older Enfold version and nothing happened. Tried it again with the update and same problem.
Can’t get Google fonts to display, regardless of which font I choose in Theme Options. If I choose a web font, I can get it to switch to that web font. Have cleared cache, etcetera.(suddenly started working)All plugins still deactivated.
One other anomaly that may have bearing. Although I have been using the Advanced Layout Editor, when I use the Classic Editor instead, there is nothing but a blank screen. When I switch to the Block Editor, the posts show up as wished. So the problem appears to be in the Advanced Layout Editor/Classic Editor toggle.

September 9, 2019 at 3:20 pm #1136062Hi,
Thank you for the update.
Do you want to display the full content of the posts? You should edit the blog posts element in the “Latest Posts” page and set the “Blog Content length” to “Full Content”. (see private field)
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 9, 2019 at 5:50 pm #1136148Well….per this thread, you can see that the entire problem was just that: Full Content WAS selected in every instance: the homepage blogposts element, the blog posts page, and the post itself… When I switch the POST layout to Advance Layout Editor, all post views — on the homepage and the blog posts page become excerpted. Something in the ALE is causing that, I don’t know what. When I switch back to the block editor, the excerpts again become the full post.
Here’s what I need to happen — all posts (and pages) use ALE and all posts obey the Blog element selection: FULL CONTENT when it is used on pages.
UPDATE: The problem persists but I’m going to do a workaround and just have the client work in Blocks from now on. Others may see the issue but I’m not going to work on the problem. No need to reply.
