Hi there,
This is a problem I’ve experienced a couple times now with enfold recently:I am done building my site and there are just a few small changes to make. For example delete one line from the headline rotator. By doing that, everything seems fine, but when I click on “save site” in the backend, the frontend page disappears or at least half of the page does.
I have no idea why that happens. Since I have not installed any plugin or made some other major changes to the site.
It can also be just one change in a telephone number….
The only possibility to get back to the “old” site is to restore from a backup I made (thank god)Can you please help? :)
Thanks Katrin

Thanks for the login details, on which page is this happening?
Best regards,

I know, I forgot :)) But I wrote a second note right underneath. I’ll put it again in the private Content Box…
October 3, 2019 at 5:41 am #1144339Hi,
Thanks for that. When content disappears from the Layout Builder then it’s usually due to open html markup in the content, but I can’t see any in yours. It can also be due to special characters such as the hash in your last headline rotator. Could you try to remove all special characters, and look for open html markup and correct it to see if it makes any difference please?
Best regards,
RikardOctober 4, 2019 at 2:09 pm #1144979Hi Rikard,
I tried to remove the # in the last line, but it’s the same – I cannot even save this change. As soon as I hit the save button – the frontend is gone…
Any other ideas? I’m so sorry, but I don’t have any clue where to start…October 7, 2019 at 4:15 am #1145604Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for the login. I don’t see the hash (#) in your headline rotator, were you able to correct this?
Is “Home” & “Home2” the same? I see in your WordPress > Settings > General > Homepage “Home” is chosen, but in Enfold Theme Options > Homepage “Home2” is chosen. This probably is not a big deal, but we should pick the same just to rule out any conflicts. Which one do you want to use? I would then test on the other page because I don’t want to lose your whole page as you said was happening.Best regards,
MikeOctober 7, 2019 at 7:58 am #1145668Hi Mike,
Thanks for helping me. “Home” was the first draft of the homepage. I named it “Home (Test Page)” now and “Home2” is what should be the Startpage. so we just have that. I also checked the General Settings and the Enfold theme Settings and changed it. Sorry for that. The # was before Walltstreetstudios in the Headline Rotator. It should say “#WALLTREETSTUDIOS #DAMBAMGARAGE”

October 10, 2019 at 1:31 pm #1146854Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, I tested your Home2 with our a Avia Layout Builder Debugger but found no errors and I was able to copy your pages shortcode to my localhost and also test on a new install.
I removed the “#” from the headline rotator and saved without error, and the backend looks the same as the frontend. Please check to confirm.Best regards,
MikeOctober 10, 2019 at 2:17 pm #1146865Dear Mike,
So there was no error to fix? This is so funny, because I was having one heart attack after the other, since with every little step the page crashed…
Right now, I was able to make and save changes, so everything seems fine. I really hope it stays that way.So one last question: Is there a way to put the # back in? Do you think, this was causing the problem? Because the Hashtag is wanted…. and I need to find a way now.
Thank you so much,
KatrinOctober 12, 2019 at 3:28 pm #1147393Hi Katrin,
https://cl.ly/fef8526ad1d6 You can try using the html code for the hash from here

VictoriaOctober 23, 2019 at 3:55 pm #1150541Hi there,
Here we go again – unfortunately… I used the html Code or the hash and saved the site. The Backend looks fine, but half of the Frontend is gone now again.
Could you please check again? Something is wrong here, since this problem keeps coming back again and again as soon as I try to make some changes. The Login Details in the private section above should still work. Thanks, Katrin

VictoriaOctober 24, 2019 at 1:59 pm #1150887Hi,
Sorry you are having these problems, I checked your page and reverted back to the full page and tested with the Avia Layout Builder Debugger I didn’t find any errors even though I added the hashtags and saved and made a few more small changes to try to cause the error again, but couldn’t.
Are you trying to edit the page with the WordPress default editor or the WordPress block editor after building with the Enfold Advanced Layout Builder? Because you can’t use the other editors once it has been built with the Advanced Layout Builder. Can you tell me what edit I should try to cause the error?Best regards,
MikeOctober 24, 2019 at 3:17 pm #1150909Hi Mike,
Thank you so much for helping me and trying to find the problem. I am using the Avia Layout Builder – also to make changes. Last time I deleted one line of the headline editor and that was enough to cause the problem. Then the Frontend disappears underneath the Instagram Feed and in the Backend there is a block with html left. :/
How did you revert back to the full page?
I have to switch this page to its final domain now. I might also have to do some more changes. Let’s see, if the problem comes up again. I will let you know exactly what I did. :)Best regards, Katrin
