A client asked me why I just didn’t use “the free version of Enfold”. When I asked him what he was referring to, he sent me this link:
Is this bogus/illegal? How can someone give Enfold away?
Just curious what that is — I continue to purchase it because I love you guys :)
MMay 1, 2019 at 11:13 pm #1096269I believe this is referred to as “Copyright infringement”.
May 1, 2019 at 11:38 pm #1096273I agree. Ick.
May 3, 2019 at 4:45 am #1096693Hi,
Thanks for sharing, that is not legal no. The only place you can officially buy our themes are on Themeforest. If you download the theme from places like that then you will likely get malware along with it.
Best regards,
RikardMay 3, 2019 at 4:55 am #1096697Thanks, Rikard. I thought so – it just didn’t make sense that they are allowed to go on doing that. I’m not in the least bit interested in getting my Enfold from anyone from you guys :)
May 4, 2019 at 5:05 am #1097052Hi M,
It’s not very nice no, but there’s nothing we can do about it unfortunately.
Best regards,
RikardMay 4, 2019 at 5:16 am #1097057Above all, I must urgently advise against such sites, because these so-called “nulled” versions often contain malware or spytools.
So please be careful
Just google for “Nulled Version and Spyware”May 7, 2019 at 8:44 am #1097990An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.
Is your server version containing spyware as well? Is the spyware in avia layout framework?
Please help I need to know how to fix this.
May 8, 2019 at 4:51 am #1098257Hi nationalintel,
I see that you are running an old version of the theme, could you try to update to the latest version (4.5.6) to see if that helps please? The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Best regards,
Rikard -
