    As a test, I just changed my featured image in a portfolio post to be different to the one that is inside the post. It is the featured image that opens up, rather than the image I have placed in the post! Is this normal behaviour or am I posting my portfolio items incorrectly?? Thanks!

    Hey carendavis!

    Your talking about the checkbox that displays beneath the featured image when you edit your post correct? That is for hiding the featured image on the single post view so you can insert your own in the editor if you wish.

    If that is not correct then send us a link to your page so we can get a better idea of what’s going on.

    No, I am talking about the “feature image” that you have to add when adding a new portfolio item in order for the item to show up in portfolio grid view or masonry view. I have my portfolio grid on my page set to open the items in a lightbox. I add each item in Portfolio Items as below:

    As you can see the image I have in the “post” is different to the one I have in the featured image box. The featured image shows in my portfolio grid as it should, but when I open it up in lightbox, I would have expected the image in the “post” area would be the one that shows, but it is the “featured image” that shows. Is this what it is supposed to do? Or should I be posting my portfolio items differently for the lightbox view?
    Thankyou!

    I think I may confused as to how portfolio grid works? We definitely want images from our portfolio page to open directly into a lightbox and for the user to click through each image in portfolio rather than going into separate galleries. Is portfolio grid the right option to use? I have tried using the masonry grid (under content elements, not media elements), but it seems to not have the option to open directly into a lightbox.
    Thanks for your help! I’m at a bit of a standstill until I can resolve this – thankyou!!

    Hey I have another topic open at https://kriesi.at/support/topic/caption-under-image-in-lightbox-view/ and these two things are now slightly related so I will just post here.
    – Firstly, I found this link ( http://screencast.com/t/rPrLkb0VBw0 ) in another post which has helped me understand how to link an image from portfolio/masonry grid to be viewed in lightbox..
    Can I suggest this be included in your documentation? I wouldn’t have been able to work it out otherwise! :)

    – Secondly, when opened in lightbox from portfolio grid, the images appear much less vibrant than when opened in lightbox from masonry grid! (see screenshots below)
    Image opened in Lightbox from Portfolio Grid
    portfolio lightbox screenshot
    Image opened in Lightbox from Masonry Grid
    lightbox masonry screenshot

    – Thirdly, when opened in lightbox from portfolio grid, the image title does not show, however it does in masonry grid…BUT it is the title of the POST rather than the IMAGE in the post. I have tried reinstalling Enfold via FTP as it was suggested in the other thread here but this has not changed the behaviour of the portfolio lightbox.

    I am happy to use the masonry grid if this is not easily resolved – however there were two things I preferred about portfolio grid:
    1. the ability to have a colored overlay when you hover over the linked image in the grid like this, rather than the animation which is default on the masonry grid.
    2. the EVEN spacing between images in the portfolio grid. (I find in masonry grid, the spacing can be uneven). I would like the spacing to be like my original portfolio page (set at 5px). I have tried the following css to adjust the spacing to how I’d like it, but it is still uneven and when hovered with the animation it zooms unevenly. Can this be fixed?

    .av-fixed-size .av-masonry-image-container {
        margin-right: 3px;
        margin-bottom: 4px;
    }

    **The page in question can be viewed in private content**

    I think that is all for now. I appreciate the help!

    Just an FYI further to the above, I have been testing to see if the lightbox is different on another browser.. it seems the difference between the galleries is barely noticeable on Safari v9.0.1 – just a slight difference in the “grain” / pixelation of the images (more grainy when opened in lightbox from portfolio grid, than when opened from masonry grid). The more noticeable difference between the two can be seen on Google Chrome (I am running v 47.0.2526.111).

    Hey!

    The image difference seems to be caused by wp.com image processing, i’d suggest disabling that in the Jetpack options.

    Cheers!

    Awesome, thanks Josue – this has solved the image difference problem. I will re-address the image title problem in it’s original thread.
    Many thanks!!
