May 16, 2017 at 4:43 pm #794093I have the same issue … Had to revert back to version 4.0.5
May 16, 2017 at 4:52 pm #794101My website is totally inaccessible after updating to 4.0.6 as well. How do I revert to 4.0.5?
May 16, 2017 at 4:55 pm #794104Same problem here….
May 16, 2017 at 5:00 pm #794110Same here – white screen of death (both frontend and backend).
May 16, 2017 at 5:03 pm #794116same :(
May 16, 2017 at 5:10 pm #794123I have the same problem! Can anyone help?
May 16, 2017 at 5:12 pm #794124My site crashed too.
May 16, 2017 at 5:12 pm #794125This needs rectifying ASAP!!!!
Need a copy of the previous version uploading somewhere Kriesi so we can revert back please!
May 16, 2017 at 5:23 pm #794139… and instructions how to manually (via FTP) put back the 4.0.5 files, as the WordPress backend is also dead… Themeforest (Envato) only has the latest version available to download, not the prior version.

May 16, 2017 at 5:24 pm #794140I tried to revert by I’m getting problems with the LayerSlider. I cannot copy the old files!
Fatal error: Call to undefined function post_has_layerslider() in /home/(USER)/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/config.php on line 157
May 16, 2017 at 5:25 pm #794144Obviously not been tested thoroughly enough before releasing to public
#angryisnottheword!
May 16, 2017 at 5:28 pm #794147I too am getting this exact error.
Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /xxx/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/class-form-generator.php on line 435I have disabled all plugins and reinstalled the 4.0.6 version, same result. I am now in the process of restoring to a backup from yesterday and version 4.0.5. I have a test site available if we need to crash things there.
These are on GoDaddy servers running php 5.6 (wait, I just got DOWN graded by Go Daffy to 5.4 to force me to upgrade accounts)- I am assuming this is the issue, am I correct? If so I have bigger issues as GoDaffy refuses to update to PHP-7. I know I was on 5.6 as is seen in other threads! I hate my hosting provider.
May 16, 2017 at 5:30 pm #794151(Michael as an aside, I had Go Daffy for years and felt the same way. I switched the WP Engine and am never looking back. They are awesome. A little more expensive but my site is always up and support is great. And php 7.)
May 16, 2017 at 5:31 pm #794153In another thread someone said:
wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/class-form-generator.php on line 435
I commented out line 435 of that file for a temporary fix to my sites until the theme is updated.
Perhaps someone can try this? I will try as well as soon as I figure out how to login to my site via FTP!

May 16, 2017 at 5:34 pm #794157All I can say is that it got my sites up and running again. Commenting out that code may yield other errors, and I didn’t trace the execution to see if that was the case. My goal was to just get things to a point where I could easily update enfold when 4.0.7 is released.
May 16, 2017 at 5:39 pm #794166Also commented out
wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/class-form-generator.php on line 435
and got the site running again. Waiting for the update…May 16, 2017 at 5:39 pm #794168Indeed, commenting out line 435 as per post above gets my site back online as a temporary fix…
May 16, 2017 at 5:41 pm #794173I removed line 435. It worked to help me get back onto my dashboard and reinstall my backup. For anyone wondering, the specific line in the PHP file is
if( ! empty( trim( $element[‘label’] ) ) )
May 16, 2017 at 5:42 pm #794174LAVision – I just re-uploaded the 4.0.5 theme times via FTP which got my site backup.
May 16, 2017 at 5:44 pm #794177Can anyone please share a download link to version 4.0.5? I don’t have a copy and need it ASAP. I would really appreciate if someone could post the version 4.0.5 enfold.zip file. Thank you!!!
May 16, 2017 at 5:44 pm #794178Yes, I’d love to get a copy of 4.0.5 to do that as well… Could you please provide a dropbox (or similar) link or something so we can download it? Themeforest only lets me download the latest version…
May 16, 2017 at 5:48 pm #794182Confirmed. Simply deleting that line brought my site back up.
Thank you!

May 16, 2017 at 5:51 pm #794186Try this guys and girls: [link removed – thanks for the help ;) ]
It’s in my Dropbox account. Navigate to the unzipped folder called ‘enfold’ and you should be good to go. I have a minor mod to functions.php but all it does is add two additional images sizes to the defaults that the theme creates when you upload, so nothing to be alarmed about! I always like to hard code this mod rather than leave it to the Child Theme (old skool habits!)Hope that helps?
EdPS – I always wait a few days after the updates are launched and ALWAYS manually download from Themeforest and don’t use the auto-uploader. It may help you keep archival copies in the future.
