    Hi guys
thanks for all your help so far. think I may have a bug, but not sure. Using the latest version 3.8.4 with child theme

Here is the problem, set the homepage blog posts for a 3 column grid layout showing title and excerpt.
The excerpt will only show if I add the text using the wysiwyg editor when creating the new post.
When i switch to Advanced Layout Editor to add layout and content elements, the excerpt disappears.
Basically if I switch bet default editor and advanced layout editor, I lose my excerpts on the homepage.
Tried putting the text editor at the top of the page, but no dice.

Often I use the text box in the adv layout, but the text i add sometimes saves, sometimes it doesn’t.

any ideas what is going on here?

    Hey happybloodycamper,

That is as expected, when you use the Layout Builder for posts it will act like a page and you will have add all content manually. You can get around this behaviour by saving when the default editor is active though. If you want to add the excerpt manually you can do so by selecting to show it in Screen Options in the top right hand corner of the screen.

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard,
Thanks for your help, the excerpt problem is sorted, but the wysiwyg editor is still won’t play nice.
Building a Catalogue list and everything works fine, except for what I write in the text editor area to describe the item. i am finding the following:
I write a whole bunch of stuff to find it hasn’t saved.
Edited a bunch of stuff to find out it hadn’t been edited and saved

I even duplicated catalogue items in hope it works and when i edit those the problem still occurs.
i just spent 3 hours and I only managed to build two catalogue items.

please tell me there is a fix for this, i am running behind schedule :(

    Hi,

Ok, thanks for the feedback. Could you please provide us with a temporary admin login so that we can take a closer look? You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply. Also, please look for any unclosed html markup in your content as that is likely cause of it not being saved:

    <strong>Bold text closed properly</strong>

    Best regards,
    Rikard
