    Hi there

I have a website that needs an Enfold update. It is running on 4.2.5 and I can see it needs updating, as I can no longer use the Avia block builder. However, the system is showing that no updates are required. I have an API key and I also have the Update themes and plugins from zipfile plugin but nowhere can I go to update the theme. Can you help please.

    Hi there,

think from this version you have to do it manually. Download the latest Version from themeforest and use this Plugin:
    https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

But you should do a backup before you update just in case……

For future updates you need to generate a Personal Token from themeforest…
    More about this here:

    Regards
    Alex

I have got that plugin installed but it’s not giving the option for any updates. I will check again and come back if I can’t see the solution.

If you have the plugin installed.
Go to themes and add the newest version of Enfold you downloaded from themeforest(.zip(You have to download the installable WordPress File – not the whole package)).

    Hi Louise_Brace,

Sorry for the problem. The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.

After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.

Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Basilis

As I feel a little unsure about doing this. Can you recommend someone who can help me to install the new theme version? Do you guys offer this service? I was going to pay Themeforest to do it, but they only help with setting up from the beginning, installing WP etc. Not just updating the theme.

Otherwise I will have to see if my hosting company can help.

    Hi Louise,

We can do it for you, but we will need FTP login details as well then. Please post them in private along with a verification that you have backups of your site, in case something should go wrong.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Hi Rikard, that’s great. Thank you! Details below. Backup is done every 24 hours by our hosting company and we haven’t made any changes in the last couple of weeks. We do have a child theme on the site though, so need to take that into account when updating. Thank you!
