    Hi,

I’m trying to help out with a WordPress site. They have a wordpress site today running WordPress 4.9.3. I decided to help them move the wordpress site over to a new host. This new host only offers PHP 7.x and the old one had support for PHP 5.6. So to make a long story short when I finally managed to move everything over and updated everything within WordPress, your theme Enfold 3.8.4 with Enfold Child 1.0 gave me errors. More specifically widget errors.
So I was wondering if i buy the newest release from you guys, version 4.7 will I be able to just throw it in and everything will look like it used to or do I have to fix every single page in order to make it work?

If you want to see the error I experienced you can have a look here:

The one I’m trying to help doesn’t really want a new look for the site. But I guess that is unavoidable knowing how old everything is? Can you let me know what I can expect when upgrading from 3.8.4 with Child 1.0 to the newest you have to offer?

    Thanks!

    Hey Kenneth,

Sorry for the problem, those errors should like go away if you update to the latest version. The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running though, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.

After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.

Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard
