Hello,
** Please Help! **
The latest version of Enfold 4.3.1 does not display in my WP Dashboard.
So.. I’ve followed your online documentation and manually installed the latest Enfold theme files via FTP by replacing the entire Enfold folder.
This has now seriously screwed my entire site!
Luckily, I backed up the entire Site and Database and will look to restore the site shortly.
I have multiple client sites that use Enfold and don’t want this issue to reoccur. Is there a reason for this? And why does the latest version of Enfold not appear in my WP Dashboard?
Many thanks,

May 4, 2018 at 2:15 pm #951674Hey,
I’m using the full version of Enfold and have multiple client sites to update to utilize the new version of Enfold.
I’ve just restored the site and its database for this particular site: http://bourtonfarmedfoods.co.uk and its database. So I’m back to square one.I would like someone to investigate the following:
1. Why am I not seeing the latest update of Enfold within the WP Dashboard? (This is an issue for all my theme installs)
2. Why am I unable to update the theme manually via FTP?Please find my FTP login credentials attached. Thank you for your help in advance :)
Many thanks,
SteveMay 4, 2018 at 2:22 pm #951681It sounds like you are not using a Child Theme. You should use a child theme for every project you do going forward. That way, you can safely remove the enfold folder via FTP and then copy up the new enfold version, without losing any customizations.
While you may not be seeing the update within WordPress, I would avoid using that method for updating your theme. Regardless of the theme, this method is the most unreliable. FTP is the safest. The reason the update is not appearing is most like an Envato issue, rather than an Enfold issue, but the support team would have to answer that for sure.
Enfold has articles for implementing a Child Theme, after the fact, so they should be able to help you with that. The one thing I would check with Enfold about is the very last paragraph of the article link shared below. In my testing, you have to re-setup quite a bit, after the import, which kind of defeats the purpose. Maybe the process has changed/is better and the documentation hasn’t been updated.
May 4, 2018 at 2:43 pm #951697I will certainly look to use a Child theme going forward. But, in this instance is there a way I can update to the new version of Enfold without screwing up my site/s?
May 4, 2018 at 2:49 pm #951703I’d like to hear what Enfold has to say. I tried to help another customer with this yesterday and after importing the parent theme settings, a ton of customizations did not carry over.
