Hi,
I just bought the theme enfold, the installation was no problem :)
But I have a few beginner questions, yes I have read the forumtopics…but i did not find the answers
Do you need to make a child page? or is it only nessecery if you start rewriting with css?
Some webdesigner told me it is not nessecery, he never do it.
If i need a child page can you help me make one? I found the code already en read the instructions but in the FPT i could not make a new map?I started with a demo but after all i,am not convinced that was the right choice.
Is it possible to pick another demo and start again? The demo i tried was enfold freelancer and i didn’t get my photos right, they were with a lot of pixels
The social media buttons don,t work correct. When i push Facebook for example I get my homepage (yes i give in the urrl code in the setup).I really miss a good documentation for dummies like me :)
hopefully you can help me out.
thanks so far :)

November 25, 2017 at 8:27 am #881528Hi missbluesky,
I’m not really sure if you meant child page or child theme, however if you’re referring to child page, you just need to edit the page and set the Parent in Page Attributes (in the sidebar) to make it a child page. However if you’re referring to the child theme, you can download it here along with the instructions: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/
As for changing demo, you can just import another if you like, but to make it clean, download this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-reset/ then activate it and do the reset, reactivate the theme again and select a demo and import.
The demo i tried was enfold freelancer and i didn’t get my photos right, they were with a lot of pixels
Can you provide a plugin so we can check? same for social media.
You can check our documentation here: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/ :)

November 25, 2017 at 4:11 pm #881645Nikko,
I just have one question about the wp-reset plugin. I get the information that the plugin is not tested with my version of wordpress yet. Is it save to use this plugin?
thanks,
November 25, 2017 at 4:22 pm #881650Hi,
Yes it’s safe (99.9% of the time), in my experience I didn’t have any issues, also since you have new installation there’s no data that is at risk so I would really suggest to use it. If you have existing data I would suggesting backing up first. :)
Best regards,
NikkoNovember 25, 2017 at 4:27 pm #881652Hi,
I just reset it by hand page by page. I do not have any content that has to be saved because i am creating a new site.
I am trying to make first a good design…I hope this will work as well?
In the freelance demo is it possible to put a video in stead of a picture in the home page?
I like the sliding blocks but I would like to start with a video.
Can you make the sliding blocks horizontal as well? I see that you can customize the blocks in different size like 1/3 1/1 ect.
But i didn’t find out the horizontal version.
Or is it better to use any other demo? Thanks for your help, this is all new for me and i am an absoluut beginner :)
November 25, 2017 at 4:45 pm #881659Hi,
Hmm, the reset should be found in Tools > WP Reset > then type wp-reset on the textfield to reset it, but since you have reset it already it’s good.
Yes you can use video, unfortunately since the WP 4.9 update there were changes in the video and Kriesi & our devs are already working on fixing the issue with Enfold 4.2 and WP 4.9, but normally it would work.
I’m not really sure I get what you meant by sliding blocks horizontal, can you post a link to the page showing the block that you want to have that behavior.
Also if you would like to see the demo that would showcase all of Avia Layout Builder and the Enfold theme itself, I would suggest checking out these 2 demos:
Best regards,
