Hi, after updating Enfold from 4.5 to 4.5.4 Widgets including Shortcodes are not shown if the body content of the page contains text only. If I add any Enfold shortcode to the page, the widgets are displayed correctly.
Any idea to this mysterious thing?
Thanks, Stefan.February 16, 2019 at 11:24 pm #1067833Hey westefan,
Thank you for pointing this out I was able to confirm and will bring this to the attention of the dev team.
What version of php are you using?
Do you mind including admin login in the Private Content area so the dev team can take a look if they want?Best regards,
MikeFebruary 18, 2019 at 10:30 am #1068250Hey Mike,
all pages are using PHP 7.2
I detected the problem on WordPress 4.9.9 and 5.0.3
Your link for private area doesnt work.
Thanks again
StefanFebruary 18, 2019 at 12:19 pm #1068304Hi Stefan,
The link works, you need to have an account and be logged in to github to see the issue.
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 18, 2019 at 12:46 pm #1068331Hi Victoria,
unfortunately not. I’m logged in at github, but there is no folder “wp-themes” in Kriesi Media.
Anyway, do you need admin access although I integrated a white space shortcode to each concerned page, so that the widgets work?
Thanks, StefanFebruary 18, 2019 at 2:28 pm #1068374Hi,
Sorry about the confusion with the GitHub link, it is there for the mods and dev team to easily go to the report, I also linked the report to your post. You can’t see it because it’s a closed group, I should have added a note below it to explain. So are you saying that you integrated a white space shortcode to the page so that the widgets work? I would like to see this and test it on my localhost so that I can report it. It may help the dev team solve this.
Please include admin login in the Private Content area so we can see.Best regards,
MikeFebruary 18, 2019 at 4:57 pm #1068467Hi Mike,
yes. For expample look at the Legal Notice page (https://harmonizer.shop/impressum/). At the end there is the white space shortcode. If you remove it, you won’t see the footer widget in the 3rd column and the second widget in the sidebar (Harmonizer-Katalog).
Admin login you will find in the private content area.
Thanks in advance
StefanFebruary 19, 2019 at 12:59 am #1068677Hi,
Thank you for sharing this, in my report I had pointed out that if you add a shortcode to the body, the widget shortcode would then show.
But I’m glad you were able to confirm this.Best regards,
MikeFebruary 19, 2019 at 8:40 am #1068817Hi Mike,
yes, I confirm:
Body with text only: no shortcodes in widgets are visible
Body including an Avia shortcode: shortcodes in widgets are shown correctly
Thanks,
StefanFebruary 20, 2019 at 3:59 am #1069251Hi,
Thank you, once we hear back from the dev team I will post their solution here, but it may take a couple of days.
Thank you for your patience.Best regards,
MikeMarch 7, 2019 at 3:01 pm #1076000Hi Mike,
I found this thread by looking for a solution for the same problem. Between the two lines in the sidebar should be the content which ist used within a shortcode. Will follow this thread to hear about the soluton from your dev team. Thank you!
March 8, 2019 at 2:03 am #1076190Hi,
@westefan we have an early fix for this error which I have tested on a few sites and is working If you would like me to apply this to your site I will need ftp access to do so. Or if you are ok with your workaround, you could just wait for the next update to be released. It’s up to you.
@kreazwo if the workaround is not working for you I can apply the patch to your site, Please include a admin login & FTP access in the Private Content area of a new thread, because since this is not your thread posting your login here will not be private.
If you do start a new thread please post a link to it here so I can find it.Best regards,
MikeMarch 8, 2019 at 9:55 am #1076276Hi Mike,
many thanks!
Do you know, when the next update is intended to release?
Can I reproduce the fix on other sites by myself?
Best regards
