I purchased enfold themeforest maybe in 2014. My old web address at http://www.banffyhaus.com was sold to someone else when I forgot to pay my registration. I purchased my web url at http://www.banffyhausgermanshepherds.com and am using the enfold theme. But I cannot update it. Also I do not see it under “purchases” in my account on theme forest. I just updated to WP5.8 and I currently have version 4.07 of Enfold and it doesn’t work. Text editor gives an error code saying “It seems you are currently adding some HTML markup or other special characters. Once all HTML tags are closed the preview will be available again. If this message persists please check your input for special characters and try to remove them”. Do I have to buy Enfold a second time and install to update Enfold to the latest version to work with WP 5.8?

If you can’t see the theme in your downloads at Themeforest, then the license was likely purchased using a different account. Maybe you have, or can get access to that account? If not, then I would recommend that you purchase an additional license. Otherwise you will have this problem every time you need to update the theme.
Once you have access to the theme files, then the update to 4.8.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
