Hello,
I have the same issue after updating to WP 5.0 like like many others. I’m using Enfold on several websites, so I need to update all of them. I tried updated to WP 5.0 on 3 of them, but on all them is a same message…
It appears message:
It seems you are currently adding some HTML markup or other special characters. Once all HTML tags are closed the preview will be available again. If this message persists please check your input for special characters and try to remove them.I saved my whole pages, went back to the front end and view the page, then try to edit page again (as I read in one of the recommendations), but elements on some pages work correctly, on the other, don’t. it’s a mess.
I need solution that is not improvisation.
I don’t want to disable Gutenberg.Thanks.
Best Regards,
MarijanaDecember 11, 2018 at 6:47 pm #1043910Same problem here. I have disabled Gutenberg but I lose the ability to change the sidebar settings on a page by page basis. I am currently activating then deactivating Gutenberg as I need to adjust settings and it’s pretty inconvenient.

Find a solution yet?December 11, 2018 at 8:39 pm #1043967For existing pages it works for me to switch to : Code editor
Shortkey: CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + M
Or use the 3 dots on the top rightBut when creating a new page I can’t switche to the: advanced lay out builder.
More people with that problem….?

Sorry for the problems. Please refer to this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/updating-to-wordpress-v5-please-read/
You could also try to use this plugin to get back the classic WordPress editor: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/

NikkoJanuary 2, 2019 at 9:03 pm #1049373I’ve got something like 20 licenses for Enfold, but when I try to download from ThemeForest it only gives me 4.5.1. Any ideas why this would be the case?
