Hi, I have updated the latest WP on my friends page (Enfold theme), after update although the page is running I can’t change any page because Avia builder isn’t uploading. Anyway I have found out that the latest theme version is 3.8. Enfold and although it says it’s the latest version, I see it’s not.
Then I have found out that I have to download the latest version from Envato but the person that bought the theme is no longer available. I have the Licence Cerificate, Codes and everything but don’t know what to do next. How can I get the latest version of Enfold theme? Please help because without the new update of the theme, it is useless.Thx,

Sorry for the problem. The update to 4.6 has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.

YigitWell that’s the problem the person that bought the theme is no longer available. This is what I have explained in the intro :) I can’t reach that person and there’s no way to find the login data. Although I have the Licence details… Is there any other way?

I am afraid the only way to get full support and theme updates is by having access to a Themeforest account which was used to purchase the theme.
The easiest way would be to get in touch with your developer and ask him for the purchase code and an Personal Token. That would allow you to create a forum account here (one that got access to more than the pre-sale question area) and would also allow you to update the theme from your backend.
If you cant get in touch with your developer for whatever reason, you can also try to contact Envato support and ask them if its possible for them to credit the purchase to a Themeforest account of your own: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
However this will probably only work if your developer already sent you a payment receipt or something similar for the purchase.Last option would be to create a ThemeForest account of your own and use it to re-purchase the theme.
I hope one of the first two options works out for you, but unfortunately we can’t help until we have a valid verification that the theme was purchased properly. This is necessary for us, since there are quite a few people out there who don’t buy the theme on themeforest and instead download it for free on illegal file sharing sites and then even have the audacity to ask us for support.

YigitThx about the info. I have the Licence Certificate from the Envato market, along with Purchase Code and ID. The theme was bought in 2015 and since then it wasn’t updated (!?) So, the theme is legit for sure.

Hi,
Due to our agreement with Envato/ThemeForest, we are not able to directly sell or distribute theme. Therefore theme needs to be downloaded from ThemeForest. Since you have the license, hopefully Envato support might help :)

YigitThx Yigit, I don’t want to bother you. I’ve managed everything, and it looks ok. Only thing that I can see now that may be tricky is that the page is opening veeery slowly. My site runs on PHP 5.6.

It should help as PHP 7.3 handles almost 3 times as many requests per second compared to PHP 5.6 according to Kinsta’s benchmarks – https://kinsta.com/blog/php-benchmarks/

YigitDear Yigit, thank you so much for your help. I’ve managed to contact hosting provider. We have changed php to 7.3 version, and as I can tell it works!!! You can check just to make it sure but I think I can close this discussion.
