custom widget area displays html in main content area too

hello,

I have added a custom widget are for a contact page, and inserted a text widget there so I can either a photo or video.

after adding the html needed to display the desired image, i have the correct item within the sidebar area, but for some reason, the item is repeated in the main content area above the contact form.

can this be disabled?
