    Hi,

I just updated our site in staging and now the parent theme CSS is overriding the child theme CSS. I also get a blank screen when trying to access the theme page in the sidebar on the backend. I can provide login credentials if you need them. Can you help?

    Hey TOTL,

Please try to be a bit more specific in regards to your CSS problem.

If you need us to check something on the backend, then we would need WordPress login details. You can post them in the Private Content box.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Yes, for example, CSS associated with the class .yellow-box (in the child stylesheet) on the front page has padding that is being overwritten by the parent theme when it wasn’t before the theme update. If you want a comparison, the production site (jobpostatffing.org) has the correct styling. I have provided admin credentials for the staging site in the private box.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

The live site is not loading properly on our end, unfortunately. Is the URL correct? Would you mind providing a screenshot of the issue? Please use imgur, savvyify or dropbox for the screenshot.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Sorry, there was a spelling error! It’s https://jobpoststaffing.org/

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I can’t see any difference between the live and staging site, could you post a screenshot highlighting the problem please?

The default WordPress login URLs are not working on your staging site, please share the login URL with us well.

    Best regards,

Apologies, I forgot we had a login page redirection for the site. The standard login URL should work now.

There are a few things happening here:
    1. When viewing the staging site after the update while logged into admin, the child theme styling is being overwritten by the parent theme. Here are a few examples:
    Staging – https://www.dropbox.com/s/2ta19rgzmqiw7bk/2023-02-17_12-59-11.jpg?dl=0
How it should look – https://www.dropbox.com/s/f2cwozlwise9bs7/2023-02-17_12-59-23.jpg?dl=0

How it should look – https://www.dropbox.com/s/kju9irtjd8elolv/2023-02-17_12-59-34.jpg?dl=0

    2. When not logged into admin, the staging site shows that styling correctly, but is missing part of the homepage:
    Logged out staging – https://www.dropbox.com/s/yluvdf1qvxjdqif/2023-02-17_13-00-24.jpg?dl=0

    3. The Theme Options page appearing as a blank page turned out to be an incompatibility with the EWWW plugin.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi,

Thanks for the clarification. I do see the problem when logged in, but not when logged out. That would indicate a problem with caching, as there is nothing in the theme which would generate different styling depending on if you are logged in or not. Please try to clear all caches and deactivate your caching plugin first of all, you could also try to turn file compression on and off under Enfold->Performance. If that doesn’t help then your plugin support might be able to help out further.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Thank you for the suggestions. The RocketWP plugin is actually fixing the problem, not causing it. I removed it from staging and now the site issue shows when logged both in or out.

I tried all combinations of file compression under Enfold > Performance but it does not fix the issue.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. So the problem is fixed now, or do you need further help?

    Best regards,
    Rikard
