Hello,
I am having an issue when trying to update one of my websites to Enfold 4.8.6. Every time I try, I get an error message that says “There has been a critical error on this website.” Any ideas about what could be causing this? I am using WordPress 5.8. Thanks for your help!
August 4, 2021 at 7:47 am #1314291Hey Kirstie,
It looks like you have rolled back your site to 4.8.3. Which version of PHP are you running on the server? Do you have any server error logs which we could have a look at?
Best regards,

Thanks for that. We released a new version (4.8.6.1) of the theme earlier this week, could you try updating to that please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. I would recommend that you update on a staging version of the site first, in case you should have problems with this update too.
Best regards,
RikardAugust 11, 2021 at 10:33 pm #1316332I tried updating to 4.8.6.1, but am getting the same error message. The error log from the most recent update is linked below!
August 13, 2021 at 5:22 am #1316518Hi,
Thanks for that. I can’t reproduce this problem on a test installation, and we haven’t had any reports from other users having this problem either. Could you update the site on a staging version first, so that we can see the actual problem there please?
Best regards,
RikardAugust 13, 2021 at 7:14 pm #1316671I set up a staging site and added you as a temporary admin. I updated the staging site to 4.8.6.1 and am getting the same error message. Login credentials are below!

Thanks for giving us admin access on your staging site.
It does not show the issue anymore in the link you provided.
If it appears, please try the solution posted on this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/column-shortcodes-getting-there-has-been-a-critical-error-on-this-website/#post-1316832 as the errors are similar.Best regards,
NikkoAugust 16, 2021 at 5:57 pm #1316989Hello, the error is still appearing for me. It doesn’t show up on the backend, but it does show up any time I try to view the actual site.
I read through the thread you posted but was not able to locate the .php code mentioned. I also tried using a fresh install of Enfold, but I am still receiving the same error.
