You can’t update the PHP version in the WordPress settings, it must be done at your webhost account, try asking your webhost to help as it is different for each webhost.Best regards,

I will ask them. Does this happen a lot?
This issue with the website it I can’t save any new content or changes.
July 30, 2023 at 5:23 pm #1414942Hi,
It could be related to a old PHP, if updating doesn’t help try disabling all of your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.Best regards,

I assume that you are refuring to a different site, as these emails don’t match your domain.
You will need to add a SMTP plugin like WP Mail SMTP because the default WordPress PHP mail will be marked as spam and deleted by the email server of the webhost.
If this is for a client site and you are not building it on their domain you will probably need to wait until after you move the site to the domain.Best regards,
MikeAugust 3, 2023 at 7:17 pm #1415362OK so does that mean the only email it will work with is (Email address hidden if logged out) ?
August 3, 2023 at 10:23 pm #1415374Hi,
If you are refuring to your current site then you should still add the SMTP plugin and not use the default WordPress PHP mail.
Then I would expect sending emails to (Email address hidden if logged out) and (Email address hidden if logged out) and (Email address hidden if logged out) addresses to work.
When you use the default WordPress PHP mail the mail header says your current email address, or any address you add to the site, but when the SMTP mail accounts get the message they know it was not sent by the domain though SMTP so they mark it as spam.
In the past the message would go to the spam folder, but most of the time now most webhosts use Apache SpamAssassin which deletes the messages by default to combat spam.
Think of it like in the old days you could have a web address that was not SSL (http://) but now if you don’t have SSL (https://) most browsers won’t load the page, it’s along the same lines.Best regards,

In the plugin you have chosen to use PHP Mail, you need to choose Other SMTP
and then enter your SMTP login and password.
The 365 Outlook option is a Pro feature, I have not used 365 Outlook before but I assume that it has a SMTP user name and password, you will need to find it in your Outlook options and find it. Or use your webhost SMTP login and password which may be a better option.
The goal is to have your email sent though your domain via SMTP.
Anyone can send email though PHP mail on any WordPress site and have the address say it’s yours, but since it’s not sent via SMTP it’s seen as spam or fake. Do you understand what I mean?Best regards,

This is due to your mail spam protection, something like SpamAssassin or whatever your webhost is using, or perhaps even your Outlook program, I’m not sure which one is marking it as spam. You should be able to add it to your white list or mark it as not spam in your Outlook program.Best regards,
