My client is a GDPR specialist and does not want to use cookies on the website. No data is collected about any visitors to the site, it is simply an online brochure for her business and she has written a specific privacy policy, which can be accessed from all pages.
Is there any way that I can completely turn off all cookies? I can see that you can set a specific message if you enable them and there are many options. Is it enough that I have turned off the cookie consent message?
Many thanks,
Kathryn
April 14, 2020 at 12:42 pm #1203546Hey Kathryn,
Thank you for using Enfold.
Does the site contain elements like maps, contact form with spam protection or videos? These elements generate their own cookies on page load. Enabling the cookie consent bar will actually help prevent these elements from generating the cookies as long as the Default Cookie Behavior is set to the third option.

Thanks for your reply.
The site does not contain maps and video. It does have a contact form but I don’t have any anti spam plugins as my client won’t be blogging or receiving comments here. I’ve included a link to the site below. I will enable the cookie consent bar and set the default cookie behaviour to the third option as advised. We will change the privacy policy to include the cookies that are essential to site functionality. Please could you let me know how I can find a list of the cookies used?
Many thanks,
Kathryn

Apologies, I’ve just read the privacy shortcodes notice in the Privacy and Cookies section of the them.
Many thanks,

Did you get it working for you or do you need more help?

VictoriaApril 14, 2020 at 7:29 pm #1203731Hi Victoria,
I think so. I’m just waiting for my client to let me know that she’s happy with it. The settings work fine on a big screen but it looks a bit weird on a mobile. I can view it in responsive mode through my browser and it looks good but when I view on an actual mobile device it looks disjointed. I wonder if I’m missing a setting somewhere?
Best regards,
Kathryn
April 17, 2020 at 6:43 am #1204604Hi,
Are you referring to the cookie consent bar? Could you provide a screenshot of the issue? You can just disable the cookie consent option if the site doesn’t contain any of the elements that we mentioned above. The theme itself doesn’t generate any cookies, at least nothing that collects data from the visitors, aside from a few cookies that it uses to extend a particular functionality such as the breadcrumb.
Best regards,
IsmaelApril 17, 2020 at 3:52 pm #1204739Hi Ismael,
I was referring to the modal window, accessed from the cookie consent bar. I have tried clearing the browser cache on my phone and it all seems ok now.
Many thanks for your response.
Best regards,
Kathryn
