    So Evolve

    We’re considering converting all our sites over to using the Enfold Child theme. Are there problems going from the full version install of Enfold theme and converting to using the new child theme?

    If so, please provide details or suggestions.

    Hey Paul,

    Have you done any customisations to the parent files at all? If you haven’t then all you need to do is to export the theme settings and then import them again once the child theme is installed.

    Hi Paul,

    You don’t have to update your child theme, that is kind of the purpose of it. If you need a blank template then you can download one from here: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#why-child-theme

    Thanks for the feedback, so you changed a CSS file and that caused your server to crash? What exactly did you put in there?

    Hi,
    You must always leave the “template” as “enfold”, if you are starting from scratch you can rename all other lines, but if you have already built your site with the child theme and then want to change the info, then you must also leave the “Theme Name” the same.
