I’m having a problem with the contact form on the site sporadically working. The actual form itself works. It’s mainly that my client often gets emails from people who say they’ve submitted the form but didn’t hear from her. The site is a dog breeding site so people are submitting applications for puppies. What is odd is that a number of applications come to the 2 email addresses I have set up to receive submissions. So it’s not like it never works.
Apparently my client never had this issue before I moved her to a new hosting company and rebuilt her website in the Enfold theme. I use your theme often and this is the first time I’ve had this complaint. Have you ever heard anyone else who’s used the Enfold contact form have this issue happen? Any advice would be appreciated because she’s getting very frustrated and I don’t know where else to turn (short of recreating the form using a third party plugin that collects submissions.)
Thanks!
ErinSeptember 20, 2022 at 7:05 am #1365623Hi Erin,
Does the client’s email have the same domain name as the site? for example if the site is abc.com then the client’s email is (Email address hidden if logged out) ? or does it use a different domain?
If yes then, the issue might be that the email goes to spam, here’s an article that maybe helpful: https://www.sendx.io/blog/emails-going-to-spam
Also, please try to check our documentation specifically #5 in My contact form is not sending emails: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/contact-form/#my-contact-form-is-not-sending-emails-
By default WordPress uses phpmail however it’s more reliable to use SMTP.
If all of the above does not help, then try using third party plugins like Contact Form 7 and partner it with a plugin that saves it’s form submission in database like Contact Form 7 Database Addon – CFDB7.
Hope this helps.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 20, 2022 at 7:56 pm #1365762Thank you! What is so strange is some emails come in while others don’t. There are 2 emails connected to receive the submissions. One is a domain email and the other is a gmail email. I just went ahead and used a third party plugin and so far it’s working well. Thank you for your time and assitance.

September 21, 2022 at 12:42 pm #1365819Hi,
Have you tried setting up SMTP for both email addresses? This should prevent emails from going to the junk or spam folder. You may need to ask your hosting provider for the SMTP configuration for your domain email address. Please check any of these plugins.

IsmaelSeptember 21, 2022 at 8:16 pm #1365912Hi-
Thing is there were no emails in junk or trash. We just didn’t receive them at all. However we received other submissions. Like I said it was very sporadic. A part of me wonders if it was a user error since the form itself was working. I just went ahead and used a plugin that stores submissions so we have a backup in case someone contacts us saying they submitted an application but never heard back.Thank you so much for your help!
