Hi all,
Something is seriously going on with my Enfold Contact Form … I am getting 1,000’s of Spam messages, they are coming in every 5 minutes – started pouring in on June 29, 2020.I am using the Enfold Numeric Captcha however it is not working as they are bypassing it and I am getting “false” on each spam email.
Log-in details are below.
Any assistance would be very appreciated, thank you!

I see that you have disabled reCAPTCHA in the theme options under Google Services, could you try activating that to see if it helps with stopping the spam please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/contact-form/#activate-google-captcha

RikardJuly 14, 2020 at 10:09 pm #1230447Hi Rikard,
Thank you for the suggestion … I have made the change however, it appears some spam is still getting through, bypassing the Captcha. Fewer have gotten through however some still are.Another issue that has also come up – When I am testing my Contact Form, filling out the form using a Yahoo email address, the automatic “Thanks for contacting us” email goes to the Yahoo email however I NEVER receive the email with the inquiry … With that, I have no idea how many Contact Form submissions I may have never received… Hopefully that makes sense.
Any other suggestions or assistance you can offer?
Thanks in advance!

Are you using an SMTP plugin? It is recommended to use one.

Thank you for the note – Can you please share if there is a SMTP plug-in that works well with the Enfold Contact Form, that you suggest?
Thanks.July 15, 2020 at 8:40 pm #1230716Hi again,
Can you further explain why if using the Enfold Contact Form and enabling Google reCAPTCHA, as was suggested, why I still need a Plug-in to manage spam and receive Contact Form emails? Thanks so much, just trying to understand why all of this is necessary to have a simple Contact Form work.
July 17, 2020 at 11:26 am #1231187Hi Blanche,
There are many bots on the Internet and thy spam everything they can and so a simple Contact form is not such a simple function at the end of the day. You need anti-spam plugins to protect your website and any SMPT plugin to send mail. If Google reCAPTCHA works well enough for you, you don’t need another anti-spam plugin.
If you need further assistance please let us know.

July 17, 2020 at 11:49 am #1231197Dear Blanche,
This issue is known since years. It’s sad, that Kriesi can’t solve it.
The bots can send this form without check the validation check box, which should impossible to send for humans without acceptance. Another funny fairytale from Enfold. We have asked a skilled dev to add 4 rows of code with fake fields. Since this, we don’t must use reCAPTCHA, loading scripts from 3rd sources or use a bad equation solver, which destroy any conversation rate. No reCAPTCHA, no equation. No bots.no spam.
Go to freelancer.com, search for projoomexperts and ask for that “enfold honeypot solution”. :-)Good luck
July 17, 2020 at 11:12 pm #1231388Hi Victoria,
Thanks for the note. For clarification, I need to add a SMPT plugin in order to receive an email/notification that someone has filled out the Contact Form? Several people have filled it out (Gmail email addresses seem to come through, however if someone input’s a @Yahoo address, I receive NO email/notification.)Thanks in advance for any clarification you can offer.
~CheersJuly 20, 2020 at 3:09 pm #1231740Hi Blanche,
I understand. The contact form uses a WordPress mail function that has an issue with delivering to some addresses that is why it is recommended to use an SMTP plugin or even a more robust contact form plugin.
