Hello support,
don’t know if it has todo with one of the latest updates but since I updated to 4.4 I receive about 20-30 Spam mails daily that get sent thru my homepage contact form. I use your Captcha + obligatory privacy policy message + obligatory fields but spam gets sent even without privacy policy message or captcha being marked/filled.Any way to make the form even more secure against abuse??
Thanks
GregorJune 2, 2018 at 3:56 am #965654Hey gregorh,
Please try using an Anti Spam plugin like
Caldera Forms Anti-Spam – Provides a reCaptcha field for Caldera Forms.
Akismet – When the popular anti-spam plugin Akismet is active, a special Akismet processor is added to your forms.
Clean Talk Anti-Spam – The WordPress plugin for this service integrates with Caldera Forms, and comment forms.
Anti-Spam Bee – This plugin provides anti-spam for form plugins, including Caldera Forms, and comment forms.Best regards,
VinayJune 3, 2018 at 11:00 am #966094Hello,
Thanks but I am using the Enfolds own contact form with:
– Enfolds’s Captcha enabled
– Enfold’s new 4.4 Obligatory privacy policy message (does not get accepted but form can be sent!!!!)
– Akismet plugin activatedSo you really advice me NOT to use the form that comes with Enfold theme and better use a 3rd party plugin like Caldera forms?????
June 4, 2018 at 9:39 pm #966832Hi,
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,
BasilisJune 5, 2018 at 1:11 am #966924Hi Basilis,
after updating the theme regularly, I’ve got the same issue. The plan using enfold for my future clients seems, after testing it on my own site, far away.
I’ve updated your theme regulary, but I’m receiving spam-mail from (Email address hidden if logged out) more than 10 to 20 a day. At the moment I’m to busy with the GDPR for all my other clients, so I find no time caring on my own sites.
Hope you’l find a way to solve the problem. My own (poor) answer is to use contact form 7 instead.
Kind regards, from Lake Ammer, Bavaria, Andreas
June 5, 2018 at 10:11 am #967102Hello Basilis,
thanks, I sent you a link in the “Privat Content” section to access wp-admin.June 7, 2018 at 6:43 pm #969732Hi everybody,
the same here – massive Spam-Mails! Captcha is enabled.
The suggested plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-spamshield/ is no longer available. Anyone an alternative? Thanks in advance and best regards,
NenadJune 7, 2018 at 10:55 pm #969815Hi,
We are not really sure why they’re getting the past the contact form. Have you tried using Sucuri?
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 7, 2018 at 11:04 pm #969830Hello Ismael,
No I did not try Sucuri because I use a different firewall plugin on my own and all my clients websites “Wordfence” which gives me excellent results and works just fine.
Why/how can the form be submitted without resolving the Captcha and without data protection policy being accepted?
Does this means captcha and obligatory fields are useless in the enfolds own form?!?!June 10, 2018 at 6:07 pm #970819Hi,
Actually we have had that issue already from other companies.
For a reason it seems our forms have been scanned from bots and spam go through.
We are working to find out a solution and get them updated!Best regards,
BasilisAugust 12, 2018 at 12:24 am #996373Same problem here. Its massive. We use askimet but how to connect it with your contact forms?
Thanks

RikardAugust 23, 2018 at 8:14 pm #1000930I’m having this issue as well. I installed a Google Captcha plugin and it didn’t apply the captcha to the forms on the site? How do I apply this to them?

VictoriaMarch 21, 2019 at 11:05 am #1081324Hi,
We’re experiencing a serious increase of spam thru the Enfold contact form. We’re using the latest Enfold theme 4.4.5. What do you recommend to avoid this?March 21, 2019 at 12:28 pm #1081352Hello Sjaak,
since I use reCAPTCHA V3 on my enfold forms the Spam has stopped completely. (Theme options > Google services > Google ReCAPTCHA)
Hope this helps.Regards
GregorMarch 21, 2019 at 1:49 pm #1081382Hi Gregor,
Thx for the info. I noticed that the Enfold theme settings contain a section called “Google Services”. I’ve added the site key and secret key (per language if you use WPML). I don’t know what the next steps are. The Enfold contact form still looks the same, no changes. Do you know how to set up and test reCAPTCHA V3 in combination with the Enfold form?March 21, 2019 at 3:31 pm #1081431Hi Sjaak,
I use the invisible v3 Captcha where it detects if you’re human automaticly and using this method you should see a message on top of your submit button saying “Authenticating…”. Once it is done it changes to your text “Submit”.Sometimes I have problems that google does not work correctly (message never goes away) than I use reCaptcha V2 where you have to manually click the “I am human” button. Don’t exactly know when or why it happens!
March 21, 2019 at 4:00 pm #1081445HI Gregorh,
