Hi,
I can’t find a way to create a child theme that works (without breaking the style). I assume the parent theme stylesheet is not correctly enqueued but why… I’ve followed this tutorialand read many threads on this topic, but there must be something wrong here.
Please can you help ?

It looks like you have simply copied the whole parent theme? Please try to download an empty child theme here instead: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/child-theme/. Also make sure that you clear all caches in the the plugin you are running and under Enfold->Performance before you check the results.

I’ve followed your instructions, but the result is the same. If I activate the child theme, my logo disappears, the topbar disappears, an unwanted sidebar appears on the homepage, the French homepage disappears, etc…

Are we allowed to activate the child theme in order to reproduce the problem?

Thanks for that. I switched to the child theme and the only problem I can see is that your logo disappears, but that is easily fixed by simply setting it again in the theme options. Make sure that you clear the cache from your caching plugins and delete the old CSS and JS files under Enfold->Performance before checking any results. I’ve left the parent active for now so that you can make the switch yourself.

I think you’ve looked at it a bit too quickly. As mentioned, in addition to the logo that disappears when we activate the child theme, the topbar also disappears, an unwanted sidebar appears on the homepage, the French homepage disappears, etc…

I’m not sure why your settings are not applying when activating the child theme, but you can easily reconfigure the problems you are mentioning. Select to not have a sidebar on the front page, select to show the top bar under Enfold->Header, and set the logo back again in the main page of the theme options. I think that will take you less than 5 minutes.
