    Summary:
I installed the wrong demo and wanted to replace it with the Shop Demo. It keeps reverting back to the mistakenly installed demo.

    Longtail:
I’ve installed Enfold in WordPress no problem. After install, I went to import a Demo and clicked on the wrong one (Startup Business Demo). The demo imported and worked fine. I went to Demo Import to change which demo was installed; we’ve decided to install the Shop Demo instead.

The Shop Demo will not install. When this didn’t work after multiple attempts, I installed the Default Demo again. That worked fine, so I tried to install Shop Demo… and it changed back to the Startup Business Demo! The only thing changed is the navigation.

That was just confusing. So I deleted the entire theme from WordPress and uploaded it again. It showed the Default Demo. I tried to install Shop Demo, and it showed the Startup Business Demo.

I repeated this process by removing the theme directly from the FTP and reinstalling. This also showed the Startup Business Demo.

As a last attempt, I installed Small Business – Flat Demo. Then I went back to Demo Import and clicked on Shop Demo. “Import worked out no problems whatsoever…,” it says again. And now it’s back to showing the Default Demo.

Note that I tried installing this theme on a dev site to test it and the Shop Demo installed fine there since no previous demo has been installed.

    Here’s the resolve:

The theme does not automatically remove the previous demo pages. Instead, it adds new pages and does not update the homepage.

In order to update the homepage I went into the Enfold Theme Options and updated the homepage to a different instance. I then deleted the homepage that we don’t want from the list of pages (and all other pages from the old demo).

    Hi!

    Please install this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-database-reset/

Reset the database NOTE: all settings and data will be removed from wordpress database.

Now if you import any demo only the new files will be there in wordpress database.

    Cheers!

Thank you, this fixed the issue.

Note that the plugin is not tested on the most recent version of wordpress. “Reset the database” also didn’t really help with figuring out what to do with the plugin :) I reset everything excluding users. Putting up the preferred Demo Import was a cinch after that. Thanks!
