    Hello,

    I’m not sure if this is where I post a ticket but here goes!

    We are having problems updating our Enfold theme. When installing via the WordPress Dashboard, it almost makes it to 100% but then the whole website crashes and says, ‘This site can’t be reached. The connection was reset.’

    We have also tried via SFTP but no luck.

    Note that our current version of Enfold is 2.8.1 (old I know!) and currently trying to update to the latest 4.7.3.

    Also note that I’ve tried all php versions from 5.6 to 7.3. And I’ve increased all of my PHP limits.

    Hoping you can help!

    Hey Max,

    Sorry for the problem. The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

    You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

    If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.

    After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.

    Since the version you are updating from is so old, it might be a good idea to update on a staging version of the site first. Also please make sure that the PHP version is updated, we recommend running 7.1 or higher.
