Hi:
Have a site with Enfold Version 4.4.1.
I have manually uploaded the newest version of Enfold, 4.5.1, via File Manager, like 3 times. I have checked and double checked and re-downloaded latest version of enfold, to no avail. Enfold theme panel keeps telling me I still have 4.4.1. Then I tried a few times to Update the theme in Enfold Theme Options or in WordPress Updates; and I get an error message every time. It says “An error occurred while updated Enfold: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided. Help, I cannot update no matter what I do :(

How exactly did you try to update the theme via file manager?
Did you rename the Enfold 4.5.1 folder to “enfold-new” (for example) and then uploaded it to the themes directory? Afterwards you can rename the existing Enfold folder to “enfold-old” and remove the “-new” from the new Enfold folder. This should work. Oh and make sure you are using a child theme in order to prevent any loss of CSS changes etc.
Have you tried that?Best and I hope this helps,

We can’t help you out unless we can get access to your site, see private.
Thanks @michaelh for helping out :-)

RikardDecember 10, 2018 at 4:35 pm #1043143I deleted the Enfold folder completely, uploaded the new zip file for 4.5.1, via file manager, and then I unzipped the file, still no cigar.
Below, in private content, is WordPress access as well as file manager access via hosting account.

Thanks for that, though I still can’t access the site, see private. Please include working WordPress and FTP login details if you should need help updating.

RikardFebruary 26, 2019 at 6:10 pm #1071902Hi:>
This is happening again, same website. I have a lot of Enfold Installations, but it only happens on this one. Now I am trying to update from 4.5.1 to 4..5.4. I have deleted Enfold folder completely using file manager at hosting account, then I uploaded the latest zip file for Enfold (4.5.4) But when I go into the backend of the website/in WordPress – it still says I have 4.5.1 I cannot update in Backend of WordPress because have my old API and no option to start using the Envato key like on all my other sites.
March 1, 2019 at 9:41 am #1072989Hi,
Please see private.
The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually from 4.4.1 and below, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Best regards,
RikardMarch 28, 2019 at 10:13 pm #1084307Still doesn’t work: I’ve uploaded via ftp many times, the most recent version – you will see I have Enfold_old in the directory as well as new folder – doesn’t matter how many times I upload newest version, in the backend of WordPress it still says I have 4.5.1. I don’t know why you can’t acess using ftp/filezilla, but I’ve given you access to the hosting account, so you can go to file manager there. Can you help?

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the details, the site details don’t seem to work though. Please see private. Also, please include FTP login details if you have them.

The site is down and this is not because of Enfold.
It is from your hosting provider.Best regards,
