I cannot update to 4.5.3 from 3.4.1, like many others here. I tried “Update Theme and Plugins from Zip File” plugin, but at the end I got an error saying invalid url, or something like that.
I cannot give you my ftp login details because my host blocks every IP address unless I whitelist it.

Is the next thing to try:
1. Change to another WP theme.
2. Delete the Enfold WP theme folder using FTP
3. Upload the latest theme version, installing in the normal way
Or will I lose the look of my site and the data?But you said to open a new thread so I did. My questions still hold. There is nothing that says if the look (i.e. formatting) of my site will change or not. Does data include the formatting?

If you haven’t done any modifications on the Enfold theme files, most likely you won’t lose anything, data is stored in the database and it’s the files that’s only changed during the update.
To make sure just make a backup first, also create a staging site first (basically just a duplicate of your site on your subdomain) and do the update on the staging site first and all is good there then 99% of the time you will not experience any issues when you update your live site. But if the update will cause lose of data, formatting or layout then you’ll see it first in the staging and try to fix it there without risking the live site.
