I Just purchased a renewal of Enfold. I d/l the files and when I go to install it, it won’t let me. Says i do not have a license, although I just purchased a renewal. I have purchased this theme twice and just renewed one of them. Support would not let me login with my registered email, so I had to use a dummy mail account to get in here. Does this author respond or what/?

    Thanks

    Don.

    Hey dontoll,

Where exactly are you getting these problems, when trying to login to the support forum or when trying to install the theme? Please try to be a bit more specific.

    Best regards,

    Hello Rikard,

I just went to download the newest version of Enfold. It says it is v.4.5.5. I went to Themeforest to download the newest version, but when I tried to update the theme, it crashed the site. How do I tell what version downloaded? I did take a backup and the site has been restored. Also, if it is an older version, I don’t know how to tell. I believe I have 3 months left on this license. I appreciate any help you can offer.

    Thanks
    John

    Hello again,
I just found that I did get the 4.5.5 version. When I tried to update the theme, again, it crashed the site. I went to ftp and uploaded the new “Enfold” folder, which I assume replaces the outdated files with the newest versions.

Then I went to try to update from the update themes button and it failed with the following notices:

The update process is starting. This process may take a while on some hosts, so please be patient.

    Hi John,

Sorry for the problem. The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually from version 4.4.1 and below, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

If that doesn’t work then please delete the old version of the theme, then upload the new one. Make sure that you have backups of the site before you start updating.

Also make sure that you are running PHP 7.1 or higher on the server.

Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard
